We find ourselves in our current position because we missed on more than we hit in the 2017, 2018, and 2019 classes. Plavsic is a worthy gamble if he's the worst player in your class. Same with Pember or Zach Kent. But when Pons, JJJ, Vescovi, Bailey, and maybe Nkamhoua are the only kids that pan out across 12 kids in 3 classes, then you are left with a bench of projects that reaches into your top 10.I agree no team plays 1-13 but I think its fair to say we are carrying a few projects and a lack of scholarships has kept us from offering some players the last few years we could have had a shot at that would be contributors. The Russian kid at florida is one that comes to mind. I just don't think having 4 year projects makes a lot of sense for schools in the current environment. Barnes doesn't seem to run off players too much, which I like.
Four of those kids have already transferred and I suspect two of our current bench players will be enrolled elsewhere, next year. If we bring in Chandler, Mashack, and BHH in 2021, then I have no problem taking a chance on a kid like Tamba, and his size.
