Football is irrelevant in terms to this convo. Barnes has said in the past if a guy makes NIL his main priority that's a "red flag". You simply can't make public comments like that. And Compared to other schools basketball NIL is just not there. Arkansas has a Walmart NIL deal, Kentucky has car dealership NIL deals ect. Merchandise and a simple Ad isn't enough.
Also this is a 31 point game Tyreke Key put up against a solid Loyola Chicago team. The guy has such a good shot. Think he will be a good pick up if we can withstand the Texas Tech visit.
Are they saying he’s not going to leave St. Louis, or just that he won’t be coming to Tennessee when he does transfer?
Thanks. Sounds like wishful thinking on their part, to me. He could still play on a top 20 team here, and he would be playing against better competition to prepare him for the draft. I don’t know if he’s projected, but I would have to think that’s on his mind. They believe there’s 0 shot he transfers. Saint Louis should have a top-20 team next year if he returned so I guess that’s what they are banking on as a recruitment pitch to come back
Plus SLU gets back Javonte Perkins next year. He suffered an ACL in their 1st exhibition game. JP is a heckuva player. They just announced Larry Hughes, Jr has committed. Understand LHJ will be a walk on next year. Perhaps SLU is pretty sure Yuri is staying after his NBA evaluation.Makes sense...since they've only finished in the AP top 25 once since 2013-14.
Yuri is a very good PG but he's no where near as quick as KC.
Yep! They have a some fans who live in a dream of the day SLU will be a top program. I'm not of that same thinking as I don't think much of Travis Ford as a HC. One NCAA trip in 6 years doesn't quite cut it with me, but then maybe my expectations are too high.Saw you took the info to the SLU board and wasn’t received very well
My main concern is the shoulder surgery. He popped it in the last two seasons he played and had the surgery last year. Kind of sounds like a Lamonte deal.If y'all don't remember, this is the same guy that broke Tony Delk's scoring record for the TSSAA state tournament. Dude is different. He's honestly a right handed JJJ with a bit more creativity.
