Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

I expect ON to continue to get better. I complained about some of the low quality shots he took but it was mostly because we didn’t have a reliable scorer in the post late in the shot clock. Im pretty optimistic about Aidoo filing that role.

This. The pearl-clutching over BHH's departure and lost "potential" while almost completely ignoring Aidoo (especially given his situation) is pretty amazing IMO. If ON returns healthy then that is a positive as well.

we will be lucky at this point if we even find a guy to replace BHH’s production (end of season). No chance we get anyone close to Fulky’s level if we indeed missed on Phillips. Maybe there’s another round of transfers but it doesn’t look good for big men.
No chance we can replace BHH’s end of year 4ppg 3rpg average?

BHH could stretch the floor as well as Aidoo.

The real issue is you’re potentially going into the season with 3 post guys. 1 who has no business playing major minutes in the SEC due to limited athleticism but will play 20-25 here, another coming off injury who has a good midrange and outside shot but he’s extremely limited with post moves and the 3rd is a great talent but really raw with no post game to speak of. The last 2 are great shot blockers.

Fulky was the only guy we could occasionally dump it down low to and get a basket reliably. You also have to consider what happens if we have another unfortunate injury in the front court. Or what about foul trouble? You gotta have more bodies down there.
JJJ will play some 4, which he absolutely should, that’s going unmentioned.

I’m still begging for a small ball lineup with JJJ at the 5 as a change of pace. Even if it’s just something we do sparingly, I’d love to see us spread the floor entirely and play with pace with that group. Won’t ever happen, but one can dream.

Definitely wouldn’t mind seeing them toy with that some early…if Key is healthy and/or Powell looks anything like Auburn Powell you have to adopt small ball.

Finally some people seeing what I’m seeing. BHH being gone but Aidoo being back and improved will improve the frontcourt. Not worried about losing Fulky, he was nowhere to be seen most games. And now ON is back.

Am I confident we are are as good as last year? No. But I do think it’s 50/50. Team should have a slightly different dynamic. I think you can expect to see a tougher and more physical team.

I'm the only one, but ORN, Plav, and Aidoo just doesn't give me a good feeling going into next season.

Wont happen, but we NEED a big that can start from the portal. I'd feel better about ORN coming off the bench.

Collins, SV, JJ, Transfer, Aidoo would be a great lineup. Then you have guys like ZZ, Key, ORN, etc coming off the bench.

Yeah your knowledge of front court players went out the window when you criticize Uros on not being a SEC player and incorrectly think he gets 20-25 minutes a game
LOL. Reading comprehension is your friend. I’m talking about next year if we head into it with Uros/ON/Aidoo. Your knowledge of front court players went out the window if you think he’s a capable starter in the SEC.

Uros won’t play more then 15 mins and he is serviceable as a center in the SEC, saying he doesn’t belong or thinking he will play 20-25 mins is just wrong

He doesn’t belong. You’re wrong. Plain and simple hes lacks athleticism for this level.

There is a role for him…maybe not in every game. Just like Steven Adams for the Grizzlies. Aidoo will take a big step, and Uros will play his role.

He played 14mpg THIS YEAR and now we have even less depth. He will be close to 20mpg barring unforeseen major changes to the front court. How does it feel to be so wrong all the time?

Stop being so confrontational and just discuss the issue. Aidoo will play much more than last year, thus taking minutes.

Uros started on a Top 10 team that went 27-8, 14-4 in the SEC, and won the SEC tournament. I think those are hard facts that directly are in conflict with your statement that he is not a capable SEC starter.

UROS will get significant minutes and no, he’s not terrible like you’re making him out to be.

Everyone has a role on this team which you seem to not understand.
He’s a SOCON level player playing big minutes out of necessity. Sorry if that hurts your feelings to hear.
