So with Key announcing. I’m just reading between the lines but after his Tech visit he planned on taking all his visits, and then Tennessee visit and now he’s announcing. It’s gotta be a big BOOOOOMMM! Today lol

Good lord you have issues if you came to that conclusion from my post.

Barnes is well aware he’s whiffed on big men here. Especially the reclassified guys. It also doesn’t take a genius to figure out we were outclassed in the front-court last year. We won in spite of them due to great team defense and elite guard play.

Can’t help but feel disappointed with the staff coming off the season Tennessee had. Maybe I’m just being dramatic in the moment, but I kinda wish we would move on from Clark and Gainey.

Getting Key and Collins is huge for the basketball team they are proven scorers and I think they will transition well to sec play. Arkansas has had the same blueprint for 3 years now, the transfer portal has been really good for them

I’m excited for Yuri. Honestly, Key doesn’t really move the needle for me. His comp level, plus coming off that injury is concerning. I hope I’m wrong and he’s a difference maker, but I’m skeptical.

I literally didn’t say anything about wanting a roster full of one and dones. I thought we would be in on the more elite kids in the portal once we struck out in the fall. Adding Collins/Key and zero elite HS kids wasn’t what I had in mind.

Collins & Key aren’t elite portal kids? There’s many different transfer rankings out there but I have seen ones with Key & Collins both considered Top 10.

The consensus seems to be 15-30 range from most of the rankings I’ve seen. Obviously Yuri is in the top end. I’ve seen him in the back half of a few top tens.

Both of those guys averaged double digit scoring for a reason let’s not act like playing in the SEC is some premiere league that those players haven’t faced already in their career. We’re not talking about division 2 players…

There’s such a wide range on most guys as some view MM different, others view high recruiting ranking with limited production different etc…point being that at least some services consider those guys Top 10. Which would equate to 1 of Rivals/247sOn3/ESPN considering a HS guy Top 25 while all the others maybe said Top 50.
