Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

Hard to get excited about another predominantly off-ball guard who shoots a low percentage around the rim.
Wish list:

-PG, whether pass first or scorer I don’t mind much really, so long as they can facilitate, quick and can defend.

-3/4 who can get to the rim, but also knock down open shot.

-elite post, but my confidence in finding that is pretty low.

@tennrich thanks for the reply. Someone correct me if I am wrong. The SCOTUS has ruled on the full cost of education case and nothing else. The full cost of education basically says room, board, tuition, are not neccessary the full cost of education. In other words, if the student athele needs a lap top to compete that should be provided as part of the full cost of education.

When I say that NIL was brought to us by politicians, I am not speaking figuratively. California's Governor Newsom implemented NIL in the state of California about 18 months ago. Every state has followed California's lead to where we are today. SCOTUS, Courts or NCAA has not been involved to my knowledge. NCAA has fought this from the beginning and said it would end college sports as we know it. Tn. Governor Lee jumped the shark last week and signed an executive order that permits coaches to consort with NIL deal makers.

Love it or hate it... this business model is not sustainable. As always just my opinion.

Have watched quite a bit of Grant at Nevada the last couple of seasons and would love to have him here. Seems like it's been a super quiet recruitment though.

So, somebody for every position except 2. I agree, but this flies in the face of a lot of folks I see talking about how solid our roster is based on returning players.

His stats from this past season don't seem as gaudy as the list of 6 schools supposedly pursuing him.

If he hadn't gone bat-crap crazy from 3 against LSU in the NCAA tournament (7 for 11), he would be sitting at around 24% from behind the line. Not a great free throw shooter. And his Assist / Turnover ratio is 1.5 (Yuri Collins is at 1.93 and most agreed he turns it over way too much).

Having said that, if those 6 schools truly are interested, then I'm clearly missing something. I admittedly didn't watch much at all of Iowa State this past season to draw any conclusions.

Edit to say that he does get a ton of steals, up in KC range, so that's good.

I think the kid from SDSU will end up at Duke. The guy may have been a bigger get than Murray, but I doubt we’ll be in the mix.

Top 10 in defensive win shares among all guards in the country. 2nd in the B12 in assist %
