Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

My point has been made. We are failing to pay. Our guys what they are worth. If that is fixed line reported, good. If not, be prepared to go through the Tyndall year for 10 years.
If your point was a hypothetical where we have an endless supply of Monopoly money then yes perhaps your numbers are on target, however if reality is included in this hypothetical then you are way off target.

Who said we were spending other peoples money? Lol I literally said if it were my money. It’s not. I understand not paying 10 million. I understand not paying 5 million. I understand not paying 1 million. But it sounds like our basketball players were getting the short end of the stick for awhile.
Sure, that's where you started, but if you believe that's still where you are, well, I can't help you. The problem is that you're all over the place with your stance on the issue.

Reality was never considered. Which i figured was a given.

I know for a fact UK players are making 700,000-800,000. If we are not hitting that threshold as well, our failures are by our own doing.

800k x 13 players is just 10.4 million a year though...so even if they ARE all making that it's no where near the 45-50 million number you're pulling out.

I said originally, for something fun, that I admittedly put no thought into, because like I said was for fun, that I would give 11 million. Just like Nico, that would be pay over their years at Tennessee. Not at once. I didn’t think anyone would really put any thought into the numbers, because like I said, it was for fun. I forgot that you literally tear every detail apart. Not my problem.
Literally nobody else thought your example made any sense or was fun, but ok Dal.

I’m still confused on NIL. Seems like you would have to associate your name, image and likeness to a business in order for a company to pay you?
They’ll probably have their more profitable folks show up at some events, but it’s just language more or less that keeps the player linked to the school and then to Spyre since they can’t directly.

I don’t see it that way. Let me make it more simple.

my make believe Monopoly money: whatever it takes

Someone else’s: do whatever the **** you want to do.

I never said 25 should be the line lol I said the most I would do would be 45m for the three, which would be 15m a piece, which if you think can win you national championship, is 100% worth it.
15 million a piece is not worth a championship to anyone seriously involved with NIL or the university of Tennessee, I can promise you that. Just for perspective on this, UT MBB brought in less than 10m last year. Football brought in around 60m. I know that money is not going to NIL, but just think about that for a sec and consider that, along with the fact that the average NBA salary is around 7.5m per year.

Maybe not. Would be for me, which is what I was trying to say.

The thing is they aren’t getting the short end of the stick. There is a difference in saying our NIL game needs to improve (which most agree on) and saying our guys are being undervalued because we aren’t paying each of them $5+ million.

We KNOW the reigning NPOY is returning on a $2 million deal. You really think that other players are going to be anywhere near what a NPOY guy is making? They aren’t and they shouldn’t be.

The earlier article said MBB brought in $17 million

Fair enough. You've gone several pages defending the stance in other ways when I think you could have leveled it off by just saying what you did above.

Well, I can’t comprehend giving a quarterback 8 million when we can’t even take care of our own players on roster apparently. JJJ is allegedly making high six figures. Think about that.
Bro, a quarterbacks matters so much more than a forward or a point guard. Especially when we are trying to bring football back and our recruiting has skyrocketed since he committed

I'd say they are advertising potential and not a baseline.
IIRC, Texas published their NIL for offensive linemen and Oklahoma said everyone was getting $50K so some have chosen to publish the baseline. It’s interesting to see how the NIL evolves since it’s in its infancy don’t you think?

Oh, certainly. Pandora's box has only been cracked open. Just wait until the lid is ripped off. And I don't think it will be for the good. Greed has ruined professional sports, and it's on its way to ruining college sports.
