I agree but hopefully it won’t be the end quite yetI’m heading to Indy and my purpose is to honor what Coach Barnes, Zakai, and Jahmai have meant to this program. I will be cheering hard for the Vols, but regardless of the outcome of the game, I will be fulfilled by watching and supporting the guys who’ve given me so much over the last 4 years. These are great men who live life with passion and integrity, and I have been fortunate to personally see their on-court and off-court journey.
It’s going to be a great weekend, and truly the end of an era. Thanks, guys!
I just don’t get this. Talk is cheap. We can talk about how much better we are this year than UK, but they’ve beaten us twice. We couldn’t stop them on offense. It’s also possible to admit that a team is a bad match-up even if you are technically better than they are.Ridiculous.
We’re a legit top team in the country. Kentucky is not. You can just tell that they’re not in the category that Tennessee is. Kentucky would never beat Auburn in the SEC tourney.
Yeah I was thinking about this earlier. We have alot more to offer our fans here across all sports. They are second fiddle to us in everything so they are going all in on this as the one catalyst for their university being basketball.UK will have more fans, they live and breathe basketball and travel.
I think this is turning into am epic battle.
Sorry, I was mixing up the opponents of the teams I hate because those were the two games I watched yesterday. They didn't play St. Mary's. They whipped Illinois yesterday. You can downplay them all you want but if you don't think we're going to get their best on Friday in a do-or-die situation, you're wrong.
Bad matchup. It will take a special effort shooting the ball to win.
You must be confusing me with another poster. I never said they were playing out of their minds.Sorry, I was mixing up the opponents of the teams I hate because those were the two games I watched yesterday.
Nonetheless, the point remains. They're not "playing out of their minds," based on recent games. Are we going to get their best? Quite possibly. But that's not the claim you made.
While I agree they hang their hat on being a basketball school, some of the UK fans I know don’t see themselves as only a one trick pony anymore. Their arrogance has been slowly but cautiously expanding. In looking at it, they did just go to the College World Series in baseball last season, recently won a volleyball national championship, football is better than it used to be with regular sell outs, gymnastics just got a top 10 national seed, and their women’s basketball is on the rise. Not sure about the other sports up there but speaking objectively, their AD Barnhart has made them a more well-rounded athletic program than they ever used to be. That being said, I can’t stomach a loss to them this Friday. Their fans will be insufferable all off-season. So please sweet baby Jesus, give us this win. GBO!Yeah I was thinking about this earlier. Great post, although I think I speak for everyone when I say nobody wants the era to end this weekend!I’m heading to Indy and my purpose is to honor what Coach Barnes, Zakai, and Jahmai have meant to this program. Regardless of a win/lose that decision is already made. I have no clue but I am sure a few do. We will know soon enough because of portal and recruiting. Listening to broadcasters on several occasions, some have mentioned retirement, But who knows and all is opinion. Danny White probably knows and was second, with wife being first. If Barnes makes it to an elite 8 but not a final 4 do yall think he returns?
