How many freshmen did Baylor start?
How many minutes did they play?
That's fools gold ,, IF given the opportunity freshman can play look at guard from Oregon and their freshman had big years and Maryland guard if you are riding the bench can't show too much
Or you can have Tennessee's 2008 team, where freshmen played big minutes and big roles, but the team still struggled. There are a lot of variables, and availabile playing time by itself is not a good predictor of success.
Or you can look at TN freshman class with the Tamika Catchings and Semeka Randall! A freshman is a freshman but we have had some freshman that have been successful off the bat, others who got to be successful and some who never reached the level of which we thought they would. With that being said I have to believe playing time only enhances the players skills, IQ, and overall benefits them. Take Ms. Carter at A&M if she is allowed to play freely but he reigns her into how the college game is played I think she benefits from the available playing time. She is not the type to learn from the bench. She is a gamer. I feel like this squad we have are gamers who are smart enough to gain knowledge and experience from playing time.
I don't disagree with you. Just with the premise that if a freshman can get playing time, that alone will automatically make them good. Even ones that were already very good in HS. We've seen plenty who struggled as starters and many who thrived coming off the bench. There are other variables that will come into play.
Gordon -5 min, 2 pts
Coombs - 7 min, 0 pts
Walker - 13 min, 2 pts
Espinoza - 14 min, 0 pts
Nurse, KLS and Collier all played 26+ minutes. It actually satisfies me that there is a huge drop off in bench play beyond Stevens. Maybe they won't be as much of a lock for the NC as originally projected.

I pray that your prediction is right. I think the first few cupcakes will give us some idea how the season will go. We should dominate all of the games prior to playing Texas.
I see 3 things that can go really bad for the Lady Vols this year
1 Injury's,we all know how bad that can be
2 Freshmen,I do believe they will be good, but it will be an up and down year,it will be hard to tell
3 Depth, lack of,I do wish that CHW would carry some project players on the bench,a couple of extra bodies would be nice
