If you watched the CAN game she was always out of position. CAN guards just blew past her to the basket. What will sec teams do do her. She had the potential to be great when she first came to Tn., But has had no coaching

Isn't it amazing that nobody is saying this yet you allude to it being the sentiment among some fans?

CAN? Honestly she still ended with 14 points USC won A’ja had 17 UCONNS Azurá Stevens had 14 ... just to give you an example of two other good players. In the SEC Mercedes will be guarding centers and she plays good positioning close to the basket.

Not really love my lady Vols have for years. Just being realistic. Used to go watch them when there was just me and twenty others. Probably been a lady Vols van longer than most.

No I am really happy especially when my lady Vols are on top. I was really happy when Holly was hired. Just don't think she has lived up to expectations. Been a lady vol fan since early days when Pat drove the bus. Why can't I have an opinion without being attacked? Sounds like you might have some issues with your own happiness.

I really hope we win every game. I really do. If we have a great year I'll be the first to give credit to Holly. The first part of the season will tell us a lot. I just haven't seen any great coaching out of Holly to this point. I think you will agree that the success or failure rest on the back of the HC.

I see greatness in this team.
I too am needing to see greatness out of CHW too.

I just think that encouragement is the right incentive for her right now.

If you know my history, I don't kiss up to anyone.
But I do know coaching.
And CHW has a perfect storm set up.

If it continues to rain, I will turn on the water-sprinkler and try to help it keep going.

There are players that respond to "berating" and there are players who lock-up if you look at them wrong...Same with coaches.

No need to apologize to anyone Chops. I feel exactly the same as you do I think. It is impossible to follow a legend but somebody had to. CHW was the choice and she has shown not to be up to the task. A lot of people on here, like the one who has criticized your opinion and examples, is convinced that all Holly needs is some new players and a new asst. or two and they are back in the championship hunt. Not going to happen! She has been in charge of the awful defenses. She has been in charge of everything Lady Vol for several years now. I hope they go undefeated this year. I will travel to the final 4 like I did several times in the past. Please prove me wrong CHW.

I respect that you've been a long-term supporter of the program. Chops, the comments you're making are not supportive. You seem to feel you're being attacked, but the comments you're making are attacks not opinion. At least, no more opinion than what folks are saying back to you that you don't appreciate.

The center, bench, and coach that you say we don't have would be very disappointed by your comments.

She hasn't impressed me yet either TG.
However, taking her to task hasn't seemed to be the right button.
As a coach I know some athletes do well with demanding and berating, while other do best with praise and inspiring.
Coaches are no different.

Why do folks seem to think that they can excuse any level of critical comment (often not based in fact) by saying that they have been to a Final Four or been a fan since Pat drove the bus?

That makes it worse not better. Invested fans should see the good through the bad.

But hey, if you wanna rip the team yet again before the season even starts, then I'm not gonna try to stop you.

Who exactly has "taken her to task" ? The nasty faction of couch coach grandpas on Vol Nation?

I am not ripping this team. I am thankful for all our players. I just know what happened last year and am afraid we are in for the same. I saw much good I the CAN game but there were some things that should have been corrected from last year. I thank anyone who watched the game will have to agree that our center was out of position to often and can took advantage of it. This seems a small fix but coach has to do it and she has not. I thought this was a a place where vol fans could discuss without being accused of being unfaithful to our beloved vols

And
Good...Hopefully you and I can keep our focus on helping the team instead of jousting with each other.

BTW...My 22 year old daughter hasn't blessed me with a grandchild and I hope she doesn't, until she is out of college and married...Also, I sit in a recliner, not on my couch...The only thing left is coach. . . You got me there.
