It's hard to make that determination when they've only played ETSU and a James Madison team missing their best player from last year.

We won't know how they play against "ok" teams until Marquette, and Texas will be their first measuring stick for how they compare to the elite teams.

Coach has always done a great job, it's hard when a player has control of your team. A coach can coach when players want to be coached.

Cheers to Holly. I thought the Jolette Law move was smart. And the hire of Bridgette Gordon a home run, Lady Vols toughness, nobody knows that better. After each tough season, she make a coaching change. Love it.

She has a team, she can finally push, and seniors who trying to restore the Lady Vols to an Elite program. Good for her. The loyalty displayed by Nared and Russell speaks volumes.

I back Pat and roll with Holly.

SEC went 7 and 0 today, Looking good, will be some good competition for the Lady Vols, We will beat all them, but South Carolina will be a very tough game. The Lady Vold will hunker down and beat them also.:groupwave:

Yup I feel the same way, don’t want to look ahead and want the ladies to take it a game at a time because anything can happened but with the way Holly schedule this year it works very well with our freshman and our team still trying to learn on another

We'll need improvement in a few areas to beat Texas. Turnover problem has to be fixed. Players have to get better at the free throw line. Have to get a lot better on defensive assignments. Westbrook has to stop fouling and stay on the floor.

I'm convinced that you would do whatever you could, including sabotage, to ensure that Holly Warlick fails. Why is that? What did she do (or not do) that has turned you into such an enemy? Yes, enemy--you obviously aren't a friend and are beyond bitter. I'd love to know how you got to this point--bet it has some kind of drama!

Agreed ! The problem with UT playing TX the last few seasons is that they didn’t keep in striking distance early. If they play well at home and are amped up and competive I see this could be a big win. If we can keep turnovers down and turn them over I could see a win. Texas beat an easily overmatched LSU squad by 9. The game was out of reach early and LSU made a late rally... the difference in the game was not the points off turnovers but TX had 42 points in the paint off of layups.

Texas will be a good barometer of where we truly are. It is the first game of this season where we could be the underdog. What will determine our growth is if we use that as an excuse, or motivation?

We have to be realistic, at this point Holly is not one of the top ten coaches in women’s basketball. I know she has lots of wins, however, to this point she has had lots of 5 star players that have not played up to the level of their abilities. Pro Holly people like to blame the players, but the buck stops with the head coach. This has been a great program and we have signed great high school players and Holly has had 5 years to build a consistent top ten program. We just can’t settle for small victories just because we like a person, our ambition should be to reach the top of the food chain and to knock Genno off his high perch. We must face reality that Holly has not proven that she is the coach to make that happen.

I think we’ll finish with a 23-6 record, second in the SEC.

If we make it to the Championship game and we play UConn you can mark my words we will not lose that game.

We will see Mercedes Russell, Jaime Nared, and Kortney Dunbar play the best they've ever played (the chance to be the first class to give Holly her 1st National Championship will fuel them.)

Also the freshman will be locked in! The chance to win a championship in their first year at UT will also up their level of play. Not to mention the star studded event it will be where "every" former Lady Vol and Husky will be in attendance.

Just my thoughts
