Texas A&M/SEC megamerge thread extravaganza

Yeah clay Travis tweeted that the Missouri fans emails and calls to the school's president/board was having an effect

Only in sports would Missouri be considered part of the southeast.

If there's something to these rumors, the next question is: What does the Big 12 do? Go after Big East members?

Well there's some in culture/history too...Their government did try to secede before the Union sent troops over to lock it all down due to the large weapons cache in the state...(did apparently have a star on the southern flag though also...it gets somewhat confusing)

Probably...I wouldn't be surprised to see them go after some combo of big east (WV or USF or TCU I guess), BYU, or some of the other Texas schools that baylor screwed out of the big 12's conception

i'm not sure it'd be best for the conference to wait 2-3-4 years to see if VT lightens up on its earlier stance though

Considering the upping of the ACC buyout fee, the addition of two very nice size TV markets, and the fact that they're the king of their own pack, I have a hard time seeing VaTech bolt.

The situation is always fluid, though, and that could change.

Beth Rucker's article posted on govolsxtra.com discusses adding more teams with AD Hart. He says 13 will not be final. I did not want expansion, but since that ship has sailed, I do think 14 is needed.

So that makes TAMU the proletariat rising up to overthrow their bourgeois overlords? They are going to LOVE that comparison.

From what I see TAM moving has more to do with Texas than it does with a relatively small amount of money.

they announced equal revenue sharing of tier 1 and tier 2 rights (note: LHN not included here)

Read somewhere that this announcement, a day after the big 12 presidents teleconference meeting, likely means that all the conference schools are now on board

Rumors again that West Virginia is going to be 14. Supposedly an announcement is eminent. I hope not. WVU isn't going anywhere, no need to rush into taking them.

I presume it's just rumors to follow up today's rumors that missouri is staying in the big 12

(you know, along the lines of "well if they're not coming, then WE MUST BE GETTING INVITED")

....theyve (WVU fans) been speculating all weekend that something would be happening for them
