(If I missed your post appologies)
Some1 do some research. The uniforms FLA,LSU,MIZZ,VATECH,OK,MIAMI,OSU ,CLEMSON,TCU,FSU,and one other I can't think of off my head are the new Nike Pro Combat design. They weigh a lot less soaking wet than the old unis weighed dry. They are tighter.lighter, and better for performance. All nike teams will wear them next year, yes even Bama (although they will look 99.9 percent just like their currents) GOoGLE it

No apologies necessary... new materials don't necessitate terrible new designs. Bama/Texas/USC/Penn State won't change anything in order to make their uniforms 37% lighter.

And yes, I know Texas added numbers to the helmet for 1 game, but that's b/c it was the only way they would let Nike mess with their uniforms. It won't be back.

Glad someone finally said something.
It started with Oregon and the Wings which i guess kinda fit but still dumb.

When You're Strange | GoVolsXtra.com

The Gators are one of several teams that will sport Nike's new Pro Combat uniforms today. The uniforms are 37 percent lighter than conventional ones and don't absorb sweat that would make them even heavier

I went back and read that article.... it's pretty crazy how close Strange's projection was, except for the overtime TD.

"I went into the week with a gut feeling this would be Kentucky's year. UT's 24-game winning streak against the Cats is remarkable. Kentucky, in the Jared Lorenzen and Andre Woodson years, had enough horses to end that streak somewhere along the line. But the Vols have been resourceful, always finding a way to tough out and win in the end. By now, the law of averages has been stretched about to the breaking point. But as the week progresses, the return of Janzen Jackson is altering that gut feeling a bit. I can see Tennessee is due for a good game. The Vols haven't played a complete game since South Carolina on Halloween. If LaMarcus Thompson and Marsalous Johnson are both back, the defense won't be nearly so rag-tag. Lane Kiffin thinks Alcoa's Randall Cobb could be a 14- to 21-point swing factor, being that he could score for Kentucky instead of Tennessee. This is a really tough call. Think I'll go with the law of averages, though.
Kentucky 24, Tennessee 22."

Oregon has the best jerseys in college football (minus the ones they wore against utah) IMO.

i dont mid the colors or the new nike unis but whats with the weird duck-wing-flame-thing on the shoulders??? that part is just down right ugly....and VT is always a disgrace to college football...not just those hideous uniforms they wore yesterday

i can appreciate you being 19 but there is a tradition factor to be taken into consideration. The halloween black jerseys this year were highly controversial but came over ok as a one time only thing. I would hate to see phil knight who has bought the university of oregon get his way and make all college football uniforms become whatever clown costume somebody could come up with.

hear hear!

To those who want Nike, the grass is not always greener on the other side.
What Nike says you wear no matter how much disapprove of it.
Thank God Adidas does not get all whacked out on crack and make stupid designs.

pretty much the two reasons why i hope we stay away from them.

What Phil Knight and Nike could do with the Tennessee jersey could be awesome. I'm not a traditionalist by any means so i say the tradition factor doesn't have to be taken into account for anything. But it does unfortunately (IMO) but it doesn't change the fact that i will still cheer for the Vols.

Nike>Addidas. Nike could easily make badass uniforms for UT and still keep tradition. And yes i'm aware those were throwbacks.. that's why i said make it something like that.

Heck, you could even use the Pro Combat uniforms with just orange/white but minus the duck feathers and it would be awesome. It cracks me up how serious some fans are about the uniforms staying the same..

yeah, they've really shown how much they care about tradition. just look at oregon's, florida's, miami's, and lsu's new unis, among countless others.

problem with that is......it probably wouldn't work out that way.

These and FSU's unis were the only ones I liked.

Especially the helmets.

Loved both of these plus TCU's and OSU's. Mizzou's helmet's were sick. Nothing "clownish" about them, like people are trying to say. I did not like Florida's tho. It was too much blue I think. LSU's were terrible.

Mizzou's helmets are good looking if they are sitting on a coffee table. Out on a football field, not so much.

Some of you guys are freaking out over these 1 game uniforms. I'm not saying I liked them, but did you guys see Bama's new pro combat uni's or Penn State's? No you didn't, because they chose not to have a new design. You have to figure that their Nike reps would have asked them or pitched them. No way Nike has the final say in everything. Texas just put #s on their helmet and wouldn't let Nike do anything else bc of their tradition. It would be a great thing for the entire Athletic Department to be outfitted by Nike and keep our traditional integrity. The Nike uniforms, sideline gear, and fan gear are much better than Adidas.
