There is NEVER any reason to WANT our beloved Tennessee Vols to lose no matter what the circumstances may be, NEVER!!!!
All the people on here that ever wanted our Vols to lose are NOT and have NEVER been real Tennessee fans that has Big Orange blood pumping through their body.
The OP and others are totally PATHETIC because they do NOT even consider the kids playing for us all especially our SENIORS that are for the most part playing their LAST games of football ever.
Many of our Seniors have been loving and playing football since their per wee days and they LOVE football and they want to play in a bowl game even if it's the Music City Bowl or anywhewre else because for 99% of them it WILL be their very LAST time to ever strap on the shoulder pads and pull a jersey on over their heads and have 1 last chance to play the game they love and have worked so hard to be a team member.
Friday night I went to my sons playoff game and we lost.
After the game most of the Seniors were crying and NOT because they lost the playoff game.
Those Seniors in high school were crying their eyes out because they know they will NEVER again play football on any team.
Just like most Seniors on our beloved Vols team know that after the last game this year they will NEVER again play on any football team and that rips their hearts out.
The coaches really don't matter because they have money and they all will coach again but NOT our Senior players.
You should ALWAYS cheer on our Vols and hope for a Win every gameday and fill Neyland because of our KIDS out on the field and NOT because you like or dislike any coaches.
IMO hoping our Vols will lose any game is pathetic, immature, classless and showing total disregard for the kids on the field giving their all for us little fans to have a nice day while they're getting beat up and going through alot of pain.
Thank God that I'm old and mature enough to understand the feelings of the kids and to understand that the bottomline is that it's a damn GAME no matter how much we love our Vols and want to Win every game.
I also have zero doubts that all that want Tennessee to ever lose a game have never been on a team, strapped on the pads or pulled a jersey over their heads and has to face the reality of the last game of their Senior year that their football playing days were GONE forever and how much that really hurts.
Do NOT ever try to tell me you're a fan because the ONLY think you care about is your own personal enjoyment and bragging rights but you sure as hell do NOT care a damn thing about our players on the field and THOSE are the kids we should all be really caring about.
I actually pity you people that feel that way and care nothing about the kids that give so much because you're obviously very shallow people with no real integrity and the priorities that are totally backwards and completely classless.
Times like these makes it hard to wear my Tennessee Orange and admit that I love my Vols no matter what and it's these so-called fans that makes it the toughest, not losing games which I totally hate.
VFL...GBO!!!
dude...get over yourself...seriously. Dooley has caused these "kids" more heartache than anyone. Trying to weigh the sadness of yet ANOTHER dooley loss up against the brighter future this program just won itself last night is incomparable and ignorant at best. besides I already addressed and properly refuted everything in your novel-length, self-serving post.
also, I dont believe you. I think you're actually happy about the loss like every true fan is. Or youre just blind. Not a vfl imo smh
I trust that Hart was going to make the right decision win or lose yesterday. UT finishing the season 7-5 with no signature wins (and Dooley with none in his UT career) was probably not going to buy Dooley more time. Look at the defense and look at how the game is managed. Anyone with half a brain knows this isn't a well coached team. UT didn't need to lose yesterday to tell an AD who has been in this business long enough to know the difference between a good and bad coach.
Rooting for a loss with players that will be back next year is pathetic in my opinion. Dooley will hang himself enough without "rooting" for a loss. That's just pathetic.
Fair enough. Obviously I knew this thread would cause some to call my fanhood into question, but I do expect that they counter me with something other than an empty platitude like "a true fan would never be happy about a loss". It is extremely rare that that would not be true, but this is a rare situation were in...certainly one id never thought we'd be in.
I nominate this for post of the yearTrue fans would want this blight on humanity removed from the sidelines. He is a whiny little beeeoch - a Saban wannabe without the brains or the record. He does not deserve to walk the sidelines of our great university. He is a vile, despicable little weasel who needs to be run out of here on a rail! To pull for this tard is to pull against the sacred, honorable winning tradition of UT football!!
Ok, let's evaluate:
-you content that im not a true fan because im happy about a loss
-i contend that I am a true fan because I can see the big picture and how valuable this loss is to the future of ut football.
The difference? I have unshakable logic behind mine, and you have just an empty platitude behind yours.
You simply have nothing on me friend. And just for the record, I dont believe you. I dont believe that youre not happy abouy this loss. I think youre just saying that to sound chivalrous

No. Try reading a lot of other posts in this same thread. They share a common sentiment with me. I still think you're an idiot, and I still disagree with a true fan wanting his team to lose. I didn't want us to lose, but we did, and I'm not happy about it. I think the right coaching decision would have been made win or lose. I just think it's wrong to wish ill-will on your program so you're content with a coaching change. With things as bad as they are, it will happen on its own. No need to wish for a loss.
Did I mention I still think you're an idiot?
do you really think im on some sort of extreme fringe with my opinions here. I just have the balls to say what most are thinking. Im confident enough in my logic to post this stuff and face the firing squad head-on. It shouldnt be surprising that others keep their mouths shut.
Hindsight is 20/20...
You don't know that for sure. In fact, there's a significant possibility that Dooley would have kept his job.
Hypothetical Resume for Dooley 7-5 season
3-6 SEC Record **improvement from 2011 1-7 SEC Record
4 of those SEC squads were Top 10 **considered forgivable by Dooley faithful
Win against Hypothetical Bowl Team **Probably against a NC State type; would be massively overblown by Dooley faithful
A very misleading resume that would have convinced Dooley supporters that he was "improving" enough to give a 4th season. Rinse and repeat for another subpar 7-6 season (if that at all) until Tennessee fans start considering 7-win seasons as the gold-standard for success.
This loss was a blessing.
There's no hindsight. Anyone with half a brain can tell that the talent that is on this team is not a 4-6 team with a coaching staff that has a clue. There are 8-9 players on offense alone that has a chance at being drafted in the NFL. The defense gets more depth and talent yet goes from a mid 20's defense last year to a 111th rated defense this year. That's coaching.
Dooley got himself fired along with his reach hire of Sunseri. When you lose 7 asst coaches from the previous year it's telling.
I think it's gutless to cheer against a team to lose and then the next year cheer for them with a new coaching staff. Obviously, your mileage varies. I think it's pathetic. Dooley was going to get himself fired. The fans don't need to cheer against the players and the team to get him a pink slip. He managed that all on his own.
