I don't thing coaches can contact players who have already signed until the player elects to transfer previous to the contact. Obviously 2013 recruits are fair game.

Ok. I think many commenting on it at this point are thinking about it as the reverse.


(For some reference, part of the death penalty was the other school coaches could contact or even be on campus recruiting the kids)

a part that gets lost in all this is also the damage to almost every other PSU sport. With the loss of revenue that sure to happen it will kill many of the lower level sports there. May only be left with mens/womens bball

All this talk about the revenue loss to other programs, the local economy etc.

I'm sorry, when little boys are raped at your school, you get to be known as the school that raped little boys. The innocent being punished in all this, it sucks. But lets be clear, what is being punished is the culture that fermented this mess for 15 years. Innocent bystanders, while awful that they are being punished, are still a part of the football worship culture that caused this. Look at the student body protesting the statue coming down as exhibit A. NCAA got it right here.

I think that was the whole reason and only reason behind that. That was the AAs only course against Paterno's name.

I figured it had something to do with the timeline of Sandusky retiring but hammering JoePa was for sure their motive.

and I hope schools take all the players that want to leave. All those kids deserve a chance to play college ball and get an education without the black cloud PSU has over it's head. The season is so close. it's going to be tough for some of these kids. Imagine trying to field a team for PSU when you got guys leaving left and right. Is there some kind of timeline that these kids have to transfer? I'm assuming they can't once the season starts?

I'm not sure how many kids could transfer right now. Aside from the fact that many schools don't have any space, the season is less than 6 weeks away.

They'd never allow kids to transfer in the middle of the season and start playing without penalty.


Timeline is probably until next year or something.

Im sure they had to come up with a starting point and that may have been how they decided it. Paterno's legacy was the target.
