That's racist!

Lol

Will you point me in the direction where I stated it was a conspiracy?

Furthermore, you realize the owner had to make a public statement and never mentioned his own surveillance video?
I never pointed at you specifically. Others in this thread have stupidly suggested it.

Is there ever a time when you agree that an incident has apparent racial bias? This one seems pretty cut and dried to me.

Two guys waiting for another guy to order, accused of loitering while calling the cops to arrest them and the CEO of said Fortune 500 company feels compelled enough to issue a statement saying how wrong and embarrassed he is.

It's called "big picture" and knowing all the facts.

Which we don't. The CEO even mentioned specifically it was the customer's videos he was responding to, so even he doesn't have the clear picture.

We. Do. Not. Know. All. The. Facts.

How this simple process eludes you is completely baffling.

All of them...

First, I don't trust "eyewitness" accounts of what happened. Especially since we have no idea of their motives in such things.

Secondly, the CEO of Starbucks is in the unenviable position of having to respond to this. If he says the police were justified, he gets labeled a racist (even if it's not accurate) and your liberal friends rip him to shreds. If he says they police were unjustified as he has done, and doesn't know all the information as he does not, he doesn't alienate a bunch of customers. Unfortunately, he pissed off the conservative crowd some time ago, so we aren't into a Chik-fil-A situation where conservatives will go out of their way to support Starbucks.

Last, but certainly not least, we have but a brief snapshot of time. We have no idea what happened before the cops came in, we have no idea what transpired between the two individuals and the employees and other customers and we have no idea what motives were had by calling the police.

I guess a simple mind like yours would rather scream "RACISM!" than actually learn what needs to be learned.

Calling me a simpleton here is massive projection by you. It's amusing though.

The facts are the MULTIPLE eyewitness accounts and videos. Only an idiot or willfully ignorant racist can't see what happened.

What did the videos show? That they were arrested? That’s it? The “Eyewitnesses” are worthless.

Try this on for size.

Commissioner Richard Ross, who is black, said police received a 911 call from the Starbucks employees saying the men were trespassing. He said officers were told that the men had walked in, sat down, and then asked to use the restroom but did not buy anything. The employee denied their request, citing company policy.

Ross said officers "politely" asked the men to leave multiple times before the arrests. The men were released a short time later when Starbucks declined to prosecute, he said.

“As an African American male, I am very aware of implicit bias," Ross said. "We are committed to fair and unbiased policing."

But he said the men "did absolutely nothing wrong."

Johnson, in his statement, said he hopes to personally apologize to the men who were arrested. He said the chain will "train our partners to better know when police assistance is warranted."

Ross said he doesn’t patronize Starbucks but recalled an incident a couple years ago when a uniformed sergeant walked into a Starbucks, asked to use the bathroom and was denied.

"So they are at least consistent in their policy," he said. “If a business calls and they say ‘Someone is here that I no longer wish to be in my business,' they (officers) now have a legal obligation to carry out their duties,” he said.

You want so badly for this to be racism that you’ve blinded yourself to the point of stupidity. I mean, you were already there, but now it’s rubbed all over your face.

Again, what are the facts your going with?

So an eyewitness statement is unreliable, but we should listen to a guy who wasn't there who has a vested interest in making his guys look good?

So you got nothing. Shocker.
Well, you on the other hand:

IMO, the real racists are the Starbucks employees asking them to leave for no reason. The police were just doing their job.
The grossly incompetent manager could have fixed this in a minute and we wouldn't be talking about it now.

"Oh, you're waiting on someone? Well, if you wouldn't mind, we're very busy today, so could you wait on them to get here before taking taking a table? Thanks for understanding."

Boom.

Agreed. Just an ounce of common sense would've prevented something like this from happening.

I'd be going for the fact that YOU ARE RACIST

I'd be repeating what I replied to GrandVol. Would you acknowledge if it is confirmed to be a racist that it was a racist act? Or would you just change the subject and move on.

Racist have no common sense. Like someone reviewing what is known but waiting for some other explanation of why its not racism. They keep waiting without ever acknowledging what has been presented to them.
