That's racist!

By being harassed for being black? Only a racist would hold that against them. There is a reason most people are on their side.:hi:

I think being arrested for not following simple LEO instructions would be pretty embarrassing. I wouldn't want to do business with someone like that.

Just sounded racist to me to want to associate with your own kind. You can always drive for soul food and a haircut.

I never said anything about associating with my own kind. I love all types of people. I don't think someone that is Italian is racist for living in Little Italy or whatever. Same thing.

Now if you live around your ethnicity or race because you hate or look down on other races and want to distance yourself from other groups you are.

It seems to me that they just wanted to cause a scene. Most people would leave when asked. I certainly wouldn't refuse to order food or drink, refuse to leave when asked, and make myself get arrested for the hell of it.

The last racist thing? You claiming that is my alternate based solely on the fact that we are both black and think that there is racism in America. Nah there couldn't possibly be two black men that think that racism happens.

If a black person doesn't have to work harder why is a black man with the same or more experience and education paid about 25-30% less than a white man with the same qualifications.

Did tell my kids that. I have one pre med and one becoming an EMT after leaving the Air Force due to health reasons. We are good. And they have seen already that I am right. They know how hard they need to work to be successful and they are doing it. Thank you very much.

We’ve had black posters that aren’t racially stupid. D4H and k-town accounts are both racially stupid and make the same ridiculous claims.

So, what was the last racist thing that happened to you?

BS. So now all women are paid more than you too? You’ve never understood what equal work is. I don’t expect you to start now.

So you indoctrinated them the way you were indoctrinated. You’re like an abusive family. You have some serious mental issues and should try to clear them up.

This dude is the perpetual victim....along with anyone he supports, or supports him...

He's one of the very few to see it...

That is the problem. Pointing out the racism isnt the problem. The racism is. People like you want to silence people when they are wronged instead of stopping the ignorance we are fighting.

It's not crying victim to stop someone from abusing you. I guess domestic violence victims should stop playing the victim. I guess we should just let kids and adults bully people until someone snaps and kill themselves or shoot up a school.

No, we need to stop the offending behavior.

You would rather not hear it because it makes you uncomfortable.

Sorry though. We won't be silenced. And thanks.
Good for you.

What were you saying again?

So I can get a haircut, some soul food things like that. Plenty of cities have areas where people with common interests congregate. Nothing wrong with that. That is why we have Little Italy, Chinatown etc in many cities. Hipsters in Portland and Austin.

What ignorant point did you think you can twist out of my words?
Holy Cow what a softball.

True. BUT..what is the root cause of this racism?

Now brace yourself, this is that "conversation about race" everyone wants but is too afraid to actually bring up..

Is it that people just don't like a persons skin color and thus dismiss them immediately? Or is it based off of factual data that shows historically higher instances of crime and violence? OR is a combination of both? My skin color leads to discrimination so I am going to rebuke the laws of the land which trends over decades and generations and will create a negative stereotype often supported with hard facts?

About 50/50. We have a nice condo right now.

We are actually looking for a nice big house in a quiet part of East Knoxville to renovate. Knoxville only has a few neighborhoods that are mostly black that are nice. Places like Charlotte, Atlanta, or Nashville have a ton. If I was in one of those cities I would probably be in a "black" neighborhood now.

I think you confuse moving from a poor neighborhood to a rich one as black people trying to escape other black people. For some self haters that is what it is.

For most it's a matter of quality of life. I like to shop at Publix for example. No Publix anywhere near the black part of town. I like to eat out at different places. All the nice restaurants are down west. I shop a lot. All the shopping places down west.

Black people don't get money and move to the "white" part of town. They move to the nice part of town. In most cities that is a "white" neighborhood. Not in every city though.

There are plenty of bad "white" neighborhoods in South Knoxville, Knox county, and North Knoxville. I wouldn't move to any of those. I know plenty of people from poor "white" neighborhoods. They move to the nice part of town when they become successful too.

If you saw me (a white guy) in your "black" neighborhood unloading boxes from a uhaul while blaring Phil Collins, would you be all like "There goes the neighborhood..."?

Historically most would as in that might signal a rise in property values which = increase in property taxes which = increase in rent payments.

Often the opposite signals a drop in property values statistically speaking.

I personally try to ignore the race and just hope they aren't renters when (and if) that happens in my neighborhood.

Also..Instead of Phil Collins I would blast Deicide..really kick that hornets nest!

Um. Where?

I never saw that..but I lived there in the 90's.

Nice is relative also. Atlanta has "nice" all black neighborhoods, but they still don't really meet my definition of "nice"...and I have pretty simple requirements..No cars parked on the streets, no driveways filled with cars, no cars with rims, no cars parked on grass, having maintained yards, loud noises during daylight hours only.

By that criteria, there wouldn't be any neighborhoods inside the perimeter that you would consider "nice".

This. Well.. Buckhead has parking garages for condos and few gated communities that would reach that standard for an affordable $2 million for a 1500 square foot 3/2 home.

Forget race for a minute, my point was if I'm going to meet a potential client/investor the last way I want to meet them is by causing a scene at Starbucks. That's not the image I would want to portray.

Perimeter of what? Atlanta?

I grew up in a neighborhood in Knoxville that was exactly that, and almost 30 years later, is still exactly that.

And for the record the only black neighborhoods that I knew of when I lived in Knoxville in the 90's was pretty much anything off Magnolia, Lonsdale, Christenberry Heights, and this area west of 275 near 40 downtown (I think)..none of them were "nice".

And South Knoxville was a total sh!thole when I lived there. Same goes with any neighborhood that was along the interstate. Greenway drive (?) near 640 has always been my bench mark for White Trash neighborhoods...even though its just a street.

That is my Florida criteria. Its how I, and anyone else shopping for a house, can avoid the rental demographic and the multi-generational mortgage demographic.

Also a HOA and $350,000+ price tag seems to help out as well :/
It was a joke. Actually I hate seeing that very much as well. What I dislike just as much is seeing a garage open full of crap while the car sits outside.

I don't particularly like HOAs, but I see your point there. Lots of them are run by Nazis that don't have a lick of common sense.

Yup. I'm in a high HOA, not nazis though outside of their precious tennis court... minimal renters if any. The only thing HOA ever fusses about is if the lawn isn't kept. I'm always outside so I've never had that problem.

Windows are your choice, dont leave **** outside that shouldn't be. Common sense rules here.

My new neighbors were trying to see me so they could introduce me to their young Brazilian female friend. The lady was like "I never see your truck in the driveway"! I replied, "Because its in the garage"...She seemed dumbstruck that I actually park my vehicle in the garage..

Starbucks admitted it was racist, fired the manager, and is closing stores to engage in further racial bias training, and there are still people in this thread saying it wasn't racist. That should tell you all you need to know.
