Seriously, you are part of the problem.Of course I think it's because it contains more racists. I think Obama was working toward a much less racist society. The people on here who claim Obama only divided and made it a more racist society, are the people who were uncomfortable with a less racist society. Many were perfectly happy and content with the way things were. Thus....MAGA
You honestly think Obama united anything but his base? That’s my issue with you and tweddle dumb. You completely pass by things that Obama did, while condemning Trump for it. In other words, talking out of both sides of your mouths. You honestly think the way Trump speaks and conducts himself is indicative of wanting unity?
And I already commented on this earlier, but yes some people immediately opposed Trump because of his rhetoric and policy ideas.
Trump takes things to a different degree. Obama may have pissed you off because of his policy ideas, but he didn't tell his supporters to rough up the opposition. Or say maybe the second amendment folks can take care of it. Or call for violence at his rallies. Or the other absurd things snowflake Lord Red Hat spouts daily from his golden throne while watching Fox and Friends before running off to his safe space and golfing. You honestly think Obama united anything but his base? Several democrat leaders in the past couple of weeks has side phrases like "kick them", "don't be civil", and such, but it's all big bad Trump?Trump takes things to a different degree. Have a like for a solid post. But I don't agree that stating Trump takes things to another degree is politically motivated. Those of us on the progressive side of the spectrum hear his rhetoric, watch his rallies, and completely abhor everything he stands for and represents. This whole "Trump takes things to a different degree" argument seems completely politically motivated. Obama came out with "Elections have consequences" and his base ate it up. Where were the calls of division then? Trump makes stupid comments, his base eats it up, and all we have is outrage. It's all politics. Politics have become even more divisive than race. It's sad. People cling to that D or that R and abandon all sensibility. They'll defend hypocrisy based off of that designation.
Neither party wants unity. Unity would rob them of power. Keeping people at each others' throats is what's good for business. Anyone arguing "their side" is doing more to "unite" is fooling themselves, IMO. You're allowing your politics to blind you to reality.

I've never liked either party, but Trump and his supporters have pushed me closer to the Democratic party than ever before.
