My first wife had an olive complexion. She was very pretty, and came close to winning the Miss Georgia pageant back when the most attractive girls entered. Most don't enter pageants much anymore.Skin color is just a detail at his point for me

She was in Miss Georgia 2 years in a row, by winning 2 different county pageants around Atlanta, Cobb and something else. She did it for college scholarship money, and won a fair amount. She thought it was stupid, but a means to an end.
To be fair, according to Robin Roberts, the interview was taped two days before it aired, which was right before the story fell apart. At least that's how I read it. I have no problem with people who condemned it when first reported. Under the initial pretense, it was a horrible situation. The problem is those same people should have come forward to speak out when the sham fell apart.
I have wondered if the first wife's mother's side of the family had Melungeon blood. They were from Carthage, TN, and her mother and her mother's mother looked a little Melungeony with thick lips and dark hair. The first wife's father played football at U.T. about 1950 or so, and her brother played at Georgia. Neither were starters, and her father got married and quit football after 2 years.Or Melungeon.
I could probably see your point better if I thought of Robin Roberts as an actual "journalist", but I don't. She's more a human interest interviewer, IMO, letting people tell their story. I would expect an actual journalist to dig deeper into the story, but like I said, that's not Robin Roberts.Robin Roberts is part of the problem. Her job isn't to sit there and go, "poor Jussie" which is what she did.
I'm old enough that when I think of Robin Roberts, I think of the pitcher for the Phillies, then Orioles.I could probably see your point better if I thought of Robin Roberts as an actual "journalist", but I don't. Blonde hair, blue eyes, light skin and freckles, 5'4". First one, dark brown hair, olive complexion, green eyes, 5'8". Totally different looks. The first one could get a tan in an hour. The current one gets sunburned in an hour.
