Serious question, I'm interested in where you stand, do you think it's ok for the black director to not consider a white person for that role? How do you think if the roles were reversed the white director would be treated for those comments? Would he deserve it?Someone's butthurt that they got called out.
You made a racist statement. Quit being a ***** and own it. You have a right to say racist stuff. I'm not trying to take it away from you. I just think it's sad that you lack the self awareness/assurance to stand by your words.
There won't be an official report on this. And there won't be media coverage. Happened this week and by his account, was not the first time. But, the eldest son of a black preacher friend of mine from Atlanta lives in Charleston. He was on a return trip from a business meeting in North Carolina. This is a very upstanding young man. He was going down the interstate, not even speeding. He was under the speed limit. Never left his lane. Never crossed a line. Passed a state patrol. Soon the blue lights were behind him to pull him over. The state patrols explanation when asked why he was stopped since he was not speeding...the young man was drifting "within" his lane and could have been drunk. Never swerved, crossed the lane lines or anything but was profiled for slightly drifting in his lane. I pulled up to a 4-way stop and didn't come to a complete stop until half way through the intersection at 11:00 at night right in front of a sheriff and didn't get pulled over.

Is that it? Stopped and delayed. Any ticket, harrassment or anything more? There won't be an official report on this. And there won't be media coverage. I think it's okay for any director to cast whomever they choose if it feels right per their vision for the film. It may have not been the wisest of answers in that interview but Peele's work is designed to break the Hollywood mold which is, undoubtedly, centered around featured actors who are almost always white. They even cast white folks as actual people who weren't white.
So, in that context, it would look a little ridiculous from a statistical standpoint if a white director claimed that he was only interested in casting white people. Would he catch flak for being racist? Sure. Would it be a racist statement? Technically, no. That is a symptom of our fanatically sympathetic society, unfortunately.
Racism is often thrown at people as a label, and it's overused, but the sheer number of white folks who wear the accusations as a badge of honor (as evidenced in this thread) is just as dumb/disgusting. Hope this answers your questions.
We wear it as a badge of honor because the person bestowing the badges is eaten up with white guilt, and sees racism around every corner.I think it's okay for any director to cast whomever they choose if it feels right per their vision for the film. Reacting negatively and getting upset with facts and the people who tell the facts is hilarious.

I don’t care one bit about “Your” discussion. You don’t matter. This thread and all racial situations are far greater than what you want to dictate. You have major white guilt. You’re nothing. You’re the scum on the bottom of my boot. LmaoThere's no quantifiable data to support the notion that white people are less prone to blaming others. That's where this whole discussion started.
It's a really ****ing dumb hill to die on, tums... even by your standards. Lol.
