I've never heard anyone actually say that. I had to google it after seeing the ancient can.My mother gave the neighbors an earful when they called them that in front of her. They were shocked. I think they had unreflectively called them that their entire lives.
There is a car dealer in Maryland called Koons. I was up there a few months ago and saw some black folks driving in a car that had "Koons Dealership" on the license plate...I was like "oh boy...".

White privilege. I too suffer from white privilege. My wife’s family is from Vermont so I get tons of fresh real syrup whenever I want it and I will never go back to store boughtI personally always liked Log Cabin syrup and margarine until I became uppity and started buying real maple syrup and Irish butter.

Dude that Kerry’s Irish Gold is legitSyrup? Hell, It was the Irish butter that told me @VolStrom was totally bourgeoisie.
I never heard them called anything other than Brazil nuts my entire life until I met a guy from New Orleans that called them (t)igger toes. I'd put the real word in but apparently the words used in the past is not allowed in todays hypersensitive world.
I think NY and VA, maybe a few other states just designated Junteenth as a state holiday. It's like rewarding your toddler for throwing a temper tantrum.
I don't mind the discussion and making it a holiday but none of these people care. They just panicked and tried to not get cancelled for something 98% of Americans didn't even know.I think NY and VA, maybe a few other states just designated Junteenth as a state holiday.
