Video in link
During his interview with the junior Senator from Nebraska Ben Sasse on Real Time with Bill Maher tonight, Bill Maher inexplicably made a joke in which he referred to himself as an n-word. In response to Senator Sasses suggestion that Maher visit him and work in the fields of Nebraska, the Real Time host bafflingly riffed a retort about slavery. Working in the fields? Senator, Im a house n-word, Maher cracked. In response to the line, Senator Sasse smiled awkwardly while the audience groaned and applauded. In response to the audiences reaction, Maher can be heard quietly saying, ostensibly by way of clarification, Its a joke.
"Extra offensive"
Well Charlie was for Vietnamese because of VC..viet cong..aka Victor Charlie. There are plenty of other Asian words that are still prevalent today. Was finally able to watch. I heard ga. Regardless the word is too prevalent within the arts and cultures of the this country. No one calls Asians Charlie's any more because the Asians let it die out. No one calls Germans, krauts anymore because it died out. But this one word has been a huckleberry and the black community won't let it die.
Don't give me the endearing to some people and don't give me the "we have the right to say it" nonsense. It's a trash word that will be eradicated once it ceases to exist in hip hop and entertainment culture. The stupidity behind the folks making a case for the term being appropriate under "xyz" circumstance amazes me.

Racist words towards White people has no real impact because White people just don't care. I've been called every name in their tiny book and it never phases me.
Same here. I just don't care. I've been called everything negative for a German, for an American(in Europe), I just don't care.
Riiight. I'm firmly middle class and when I fly it's first class 90% of the time. It's not anything special to fly in first class. lol. You bragging on it proves how broke you really are. I doubt you fly first class or have a mortgage. :dunno:
