I agree that a lot can change. I was Suggesting that the job might be more attractive to a free agent QB if they made the right HC hire. We all know that the game has become so QB centric that the right guy can take a terrible franchise to the highest level in a short amount of time. I’m not saying that they should follow this logic , I’m just saying it’s not that far fetched to assume that their line of thinking is that the NFC is wide open right now.The Giants are nowhere near competing for the top of the NFC, so deciding anything based on the fact that NFC QB's are weak at the moment doesn't make much sense. That can change by the time the Giants are ready to compete. Hell, if Philly gets Watson or Wilson, then the Giants suddenly have two offensive juggernauts in their own division.
In the first place, I still don't understand why a lack of great QB's means you should go with an offensive coach. To me, that means you have a good chance of succeeding without high-powered offense. You could win with just a game manager at QB (say, Garoppolo). No game manager got out of the WC round in the AFC.
Maybe the Dolphins players weren't happy, I never heard that, but they played their asses off for him, so who cares?
And here comes the avalanche
Hue Jackson suggests Browns' Jimmy Haslam paid him to tank during his time with Cleveland
Is this the move? Hire a black coach to tank you through a rebuild, then fire him, and then you can say you are woke for having hired a minority but you never intended for him to be long term.
Now I'm looking at my own Broncos sideways with the Vance Joseph hiring/firing.
He was 24-25 during his tenure. The guy was a train wreck and lost his team and coaching staff months ago. If you want to keep coaching you don't go scorched earth with a losing record. The Giants are nowhere near competing for the top of the NFC, so deciding anything based on the fact that NFC QB's are weak at the moment doesn't make much sense. Was Miami Dolphins Brian Flores pitching a fit over Deshaun Watson?
Lolololol. There's no way Haslam's plan was to have him go 3-36. No effing way.
Not a spin if you start out 1-7, then roll off 7 to finish 1 win over .500 in year 3. Like I said, 24-25 in three years at .490 doesn't play.Weird that he won 7 straight this season after losing his team and coaching staff. How does that happen?
He took over a team that intentionally exploded itself and tried to tank for the #1 pick. 7 weeks into the season it was all going according to plan, but Flores had enough time with his guys to make something out of them, and then they went 24-18 with musical chairs at QB.
You can try to frame it whatever BS way you want, but everyone was floored by the decision to fire him. He was well-regarded by the media and fans who follow closely.

11-6 in year 3 buys more equity in AZ than 9-8 in Miami. Especially if your wins trend up each year. But that's only if you watch football.Yes, it does. Looks like Kingsbury is coming back at 24-24, he wasn't tanking ever, and has a top 10 QB. He literally has no excuses for being just .500 while Flores has plenty for being just .490. Do you even watch football?

Not moving the goal post. Just stating his record in year 3 is valid for firing. No need to mention his wins were against less than stellar teams during that run. Best wins were 2 against the Patriots but drop to Jacksonville. AZ in year 3 vs Titans, SF twice and Rams. Bad loss to Detroit by AZ. Don't care why he was fired. But if I'm looking at records and quality of wins than AZ as you know is in a better spot at the top.You keep moving the goalposts. Is it your 3-year record that matters? Your most recent year? Your most recent 2 years? Your last 2.5 years?
No matter how you slice it, Flores wasn't fired for not winning enough.
FTR, Cardinals fans are not happy about Kingsbury (I live in AZ and know) and Dolphins fans (from what I can tell) were happy about Flores.

2017 as the most recent examples was a long time ago and sports moves pretty fast. More current would have been Mike Schlidt with St. Louis Cardinals. He went from position coach to HC and got fired. How many more qualified coaches could Miami of had over Flores? Eric Bieniemy or Josh McDaniels? No, it's not. How many coaches can you name that got fired after a winning record and no scandal? I could name Dungy and Schottenheimer. This list reminded me of Mularkey and Lovie Smith. It doesn't happen much.
Win ... and get fired! Dwane Casey joins the club

So a baseball example?
Clearly being fired after a winning NFL season is not normal.
You listed basketball, football, baseball, soccer and NHL all outdated from 2018. Don't counter with the sport under your scenario of constant change that was more recent.... with a wild card spot and 17 game win streak. Seems Tua is staying and Flores is gone, you don't have to like it. Ownership has more invested in QB1 than coaches and that is sports today.
It's the Browns. If that franchise tried to intentionally tank a season, they would probably screw that up and win the Super Bowl instead. And here comes the avalanche
