That's racist!

1. The Bible says they were black. Both Egypt (Mizraim) and Nubia (Cush) were sons of Ham (father of the black race).

2. Their contemporaries (the Ancient Greeks and Romans) said they were black. Check the works of Herodutus and Diodorus Siculus.

3. The way the Ancient Egyptians represented themselves proves they were black. Just look:

Anyone with eyes can see that these are clearly black people.
Lol. Why dont you post the other ways they represented themselves?? Cherry picking abstract art to fit your narrative is disingenuous and low effort. I bet you think the hues they used also helps with your false claim? It doesn't. Its the material they had to use to make their art vivid and long lasting. Cherry picking ancient texts is low effort as well. The Bible? Lol. Herodotus? Double lol. You haven't read his work have you? He talks about people riding on dolphins, minotaur's, and other mythological creatures and people, and that is in his "historical text" that includes Egypt.

D4H is what happens when your education is solely based on the internet, similiar to Qanon and modern (actual) White supremacists.

I would say, technological advancement really isn’t the best thing for humanity. Yes of course it makes or lives easier but wouldn’t people be better off if there wasn’t nuclear bombs pointed at every one. We’ve traded our humanity for technology as each generation becomes more reliant on technology.
It's good and bad for sure. Medical care, vaccines, sewage systems and water treatment, etc. are great. UXO, facial recognition tech, and drowning in plastic, etc. certainly aren't.

I mean just look at the last few pages of this thread. I've posted pretty conclusive visual evidence that many of the most significant pharoahs in Ancient Egyptian history looked 100% black and yet you have posters on here saying it's myth. My belief is that the legacy of slavery is the reason so many unwilling to accept the truth despite it staring them in the face. Slavery has put the intellectual capability of the black man in doubt.

Just think about it. Egypt is located in Africa. Every ancient source we have from the Ancient Greeks to the Bible said the Ancient Egyptians were black. No other ancient civilization has the race of its inhabitants questioned other than Ancient Egypt. Why do you think that is? Obviously it's because most people in today's world can't process the idea that black people whose recent history involves enslavement and colonization could have created the greatest civilization in the ancient world.

Here's a quote from one of the first Europeans to travel to Egypt and see the Sphinx: Constantin François de Chassebœuf, comte de Volney - Wikipedia

So you see. The first European post slavery who traveled through Egypt and saw the same statues I'm showing you right also had a hard time believing black people could have created Ancient Egypt. The legacy of slavery has made it so that even when overwhelming evidence of black intellectual accomplishments is staring you in the face that most will still deny it.

I would argue that most people do not GAS about the color of the people of history's skin when it really comes down to it. They do care about facts though. I will freely admit the topic you all are discussing, I know very little about. Pretty interesting stuff.

Tribes? You had empires like the Mali Empire, the Kingdom of Benin, and the Ashanti Empire in West Africa at that time.

Mali Empire - Wikipedia

Kingdom of Benin - Wikipedia

Ashanti Empire - Wikipedia

I know African history is intentionally hidden but come on now. It's absolutely ignorant to think there were just tribes in West Africa at that time. West Africa had civilizations as advanced as anywhere in the world at that time.
I know Mali and Ashanti, and I'm not sure why you take tribe as some sort of slight, I use the term as defined. Although I'm sure many people here are most familiar with it's use for describing our native American cultures that doesn't make it a slur to describe societies and civilizations.

Yall = White folk. I assumed most of the people here arguing against me are white.

With regard to the slave trade, there's no way to know but my guess is the damage was significant. Not just in raw manpower but to this day in terms of prestige. The black man gets no respect anywhere on the globe because of the legacy of slavery.
I'm 2% Nigerian. I can have a say in this.

@Dobbs 4 Heisman I actually had the timeline wrong in my head. I was thinking Aksum (Axum) and later Christian Ethiopia was still healthy at that time...... But in looking back they died or were dying out in the time right before Mali started to rise.

I was not aware of their timeline before contact with Europeans so they must definitely did rise to power independent of the slave trade.

This lady has been getting dragged all over national tv, all over the internet, placed on leave by her job, branded racist, and if it turns out she has the receipts to prove that she indeed purchased the bike and it’s another fake racist scenario, who here is surprised?

this guy maybe?

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump also released a statement, stating, "This is unacceptable! A white woman was caught on camera attempting to STEAL a Citi Bike from a young Black man in NYC. She grossly tried to weaponize her tears to paint this man as a threat. This is EXACTLY the type of behavior that has endangered so many Black men in the past!"

He should take a good hard look at the interracial crime statistics before opening his piehole again.

I've posted images of Pharoahs from the dynastic period. The reason you think I'm cherry picking or that these images are unrepresentative of Ancient Egypt is because you've been deceived. You're probably familiar with images like this.

1684557174838.png

These are the images of Ancient Egypt the mainstream media likes to promote. What they don't tell you is none of these pale skin Caucasian looking Egyptians are pharoahs. They'll show you images of random people like this while they hide images of the Pharoahs who looked like this.

Here's Pharoah Narmer. He was the first Pharoah of Egypt. He unified Upper and Lower Egypt. He came from Upper Egypt (which was located in the south near Nubia). And for the record all the Pharoahs who followed him were also from Upper Egypt.

Here's Pharoah Menkaure of the Old Kingdom. One of the rare Pharoahs to not have his nose chopped off.

1684557727347.png

Now you see why they like destroying the noses of Ancient Egyptians Pharoahs. Unmistakable black African features.

Here's Pharoah Sahure also of the Old Kingdom.

1684557915219.png

Another guy with unmistakable African features in the nose and lips.

Now ask yourself why you never see images of these Pharoahs but you'll see images of random nobodies like in that collage above.

If the only images of Ancient Egyptians the public saw were the Pharoahs then there would be no doubt as to the blackness of Ancient Egypt. Unfortunately the legacy of racism has made it so that certain images of Ancient Egypt get promoted to the public while others are hidden. The images of Pharoahs are hidden while images of random nobodies are promoted.

Your post made it seem like the Africans were just primitive and had no sophisticated civilizations. That's why I took "tribe" as a slight. There were huge sophisticated empires operating in West Africa at that time. Not just tribes as your post implied.

And Turkey is in Asia.

Half of it is technically in Europe. The city of Constantinople (modern Istanbul) has historically been the dividing line between Europe and Asia. Istanbul, the city that lies on two continents

With that said, here's your exact post:

And there is plenty of factual discussion to be had about actual African empires too. No need to engage in discredited myths.

You clearly implied in this post that Egypt was not an "actual African empire". It's clearly in Africa. So you're wrong. What you should have said is "actual black empire". Then your post would be fine since what we're arguing about here is the blackness of Ancient Egypt. The location of Egypt on the African continent is simply not up for debate. That's all.
