Before quoting someone as saying they are taking "both sides" approach you might want to first make sure that's what they said. Especially considering I explicitly said I'm not taking sides because I'm simply taking everyone's word. I simply don't have enough time to dive to deeply into this with two jobs and a farm. You are exhausting.

It is edited down for a quick tweet soundbite. How did the edit change his overall message though? This isnt like Charlottesville where the media edited out an important detail in Trump's speech so they could claim he said the opposite.

It's exactly that. They edited out the question about the "DEI mayor" BS and edited out the part of his response where he said "those who are racist" so they could pretend he was talking about white people at large

The "DEI mayor" people are trash and it's not "wrong, bad and toxic" to say so. You could have easily watched the video in the time it took you to type out all these bad opinions (or if you refuse to watch it, just not comment) but people really needed your input of "playing the middle road" between normal people and racist psychos

Because racists and people saying or implying white=racist IS wrong. There is nothing in that statement that is false or even questionable. I don't separate the two.

I also never implied the politician in question said white=racist. I simply said I would hope voters wouldn't elect racists or those that think white=racist into office. Sadly we both know they have in the past.

Again..... I'm not sure what your issue here is.

So I went back and listened to the interview and wish I hadn't because now I have more questions and need more context.... Pretty much what I was sure was going to happen initially.

First, I feel like I need to know who said what to spark the question from the interviewer. Sounds like politics as usual likely being played. Did they really imply this happened somehow because of the race of the politician or was that interjected into the equation by the interviewer?

Second, I would have to know who he considers racists. Impossible for me to know, is it anyone that questions his ability or just those that question his ability due to race? Again did anyone publicly call out his race as a reason he might be responsible or partly responsible? If so please link those quotes or video, I think that would be much more news and buzzworthy.

Sounds like everyone here is getting all hyped up as dirty politics are being played. But what else is new.
