That's racist!

All 12 are better than her, the 12th spot is probably Taurasi who is likely the locker room leader of the team. Arike Ogunbowale is also better and didn’t make the team
So which one secured the Gold? Who was indispensable?

ID’ing Diana as the 12th is clever lol. I’ll give you that.

But no - Taurasi wasn’t “on the bubble” to make the team.

You’re the one claiming she’s not one of the best 12.

That the point is to “win”, and integrity of the game, etc, etc.

So who is this player in the 12th spot that is demonstrably better and has assured Gold for the US?
No, you make me a list of all the players on that squad she is better and or more experienced than.

Look man........ You're simply looking for controversy that isn't there. Had they given Angel Reese a spot I would probably agree this was political. But the Olympic team was smart to avoid this and make it about the team, game and players, not caving to public opinion and putting the best possible team together.

No. Women’s USA Basketball just made a decision that was flat out dumb. They are passing on a huge opportunity to grow the game.

You’re grasping at straws like “integrity of the game” to excuse it.

I see you’ve added a new qualifier - “experienced” lol.

Caitlin Clark is the biggest phenomenon to hit women’s basketball in, honestly I don’t when.

Buzz, eyeballs, attendance, money, deals, coverage, arguments.

There are literally heroes and villains, plots and sub-plots - it’s a drama that America is voraciously consuming.

Lightning is striking right now.

Women’s USA Basketball just stared a marquee prime-time opportunity in the face, shrugged their shoulders, and said “meh”.

🤷‍♀️
A very small part of America.

Not sure it’s that clever, Taurasi really is the worst guard on the team. The others (Gray, Sabrina, Loyd, Plum, Young) are some of the best players in the world, and all but Sabrina played huge roles on championship teams. All have Team USA experience too

But Diana Taurasi was in no way on the bubble to make the team.

They didn’t get down to her and another girl and say - I guess we’ll take Diana as #12.

If those girls are comparatively better than Caitlin, then that is relevant.
Who played a huge role on a championship team is irrelevant when picking a national team imo.

My girls swim. They are big time excited to watch Katie Ledecky in Paris.

They don’t play basketball. But were intrigued by Caitlin when my parents came to town and insisted we watch her.

They likely would have been interested in Team USA with Caitlin, probably less likely without her.

Wonder for how many others that is also true?
Cool story bro: my son was swimming at UF last week and met her and Dressel. He said that CD was warming up in the lane next to him. Got a cap signed by both

Let's be real, the Pistons just got worse as they got older and the Bulls aged into their primes. It's a good narrative that MJ bulked up to match their toughness, but the truth is he became a better jump shooter and they didn't have answers for that.

The Pistons are the most overrated team of all time. They won the east before the Bulls were great and after Larry Bird's back was ****ed. One of their finals wins was against the Lakers without Magic and Kareem was old as dirt. No team gets undeservedly talked about more than the Pistons. And Jordan gets way too much praise for beating them. If you go look at the playoff series against good wings, they were all cooking the Pistons. It wasn't just Jordan. Dumars was short and Zeke was a bad defender. If you're 6' 6" MJ, they don't have answers for you. Jeff Malone put up 26 ppg against them in 1988 playoffs. Ricky Pierce did 22 PPG in 1989. Young Reggie did 21 ppg in 1990. Drexler did 26 ppg in 1990. They were not good at guarding the perimeter.
My comment was just tongue-in-cheek, having fun with a comparison. I agree with your Jordan/Pistons assessment.

The best are typically experienced, particularly in international play. I'm not the one grasping at straws. They aren't going to grow the Olympic game no one internationally even knows who Clark is.

Lol. Now I understand why you’re so lost on this. You’re confused over the objective.

I’m guessing the US Women could easily win Gold with any combination of 30 some players.

Brilliant move leaving off the most popular player in the world.

Why would supposed proponents of the women’s game want to maximize eyeballs during prime time Olympic coverage? 🤷‍♀️

I'll say it. CC is too straight for this team...

Same thing that happened to US Women's soccer team. Well past prime player gets nod over far superior straight player...
