The 2008 Carolina Panthers thread

I think the Panthers drank the same water as the Titans. Three turnovers already??

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS PLAY-CALLING?????

Why on Earth are we not running the ball more? Jake has officially lost this game for us before the half.

Shocked that the Panthers are playing this poorly, and amazed the Cardinals are playing that well.

Yeah, the Titan game killed me....all of that offense and little to show for it. Tennessee should have had the game in hand at half time if they'd scored instead of the interception and fumble.

ugh, don't remind me, trying to put that game behind me. Now I got to go drink another beer.

I cannot stand to watch another minute of this Jeff Davidson nightmare. I am officially as depressed right now as I was when UT lost to LSU in that SEC championship game a few years ago...you know, the one where they would have gone to the Rose Bowl with a victory.
I really believed that Carolina belonged in the Super Bowl. Now, with Tennessee, Carolina, and Indy out...I could not possibly care less about who wins the whole thing.

Five turnovers is just unbelievable. I have always taken his back, because even though he doesn't have the greatest numbers, he's always taken charge on the field like a true winner.
Well, tonight he has almost single-handedly lost the game.

ok. not what i expected at all offensively. i feared the defense might not be up to task, and they weren't.

as bad as Jake was tonight....and he was bad. if you want to really lay blame on this debacle....look no further than the defense not being able to generate a stop when they needed to.

once AZ got up by more than two scores...17-7...that took us out of what we wanted to do.

to blame jake, blame him on the 1st two picks. those were oh him. after that, there wasn't really any doubt as to what we were going to do offensively.

but it all started with our defense.....we genereated no pressure on KW...had zero answer for LF.....and they ran the ball enough to keep us aware of it.

all i can say is thank god AB didn't play.

all around putrid effort though by the defense and Jake Delhomme.

Go Steelers.

Just when I was starting to come around to Jake this year, he goes back to his old ways. He is just down right awful. So many of you think that Jake and Steve are just a great duo and it won't be with a duo without the two, but I feel like Jake is never going to get Carolina a superbowl win.

And Jake, I don't see how you can pin it on the defense, how could you expect them to step up time after time after time of spending the majority of the time on the field. I mean the defense did step up in the second half, getting us an interception, and what happens, Jake gives it right back for the defense to get right back on the field. The offense too has to learn to step up when the defense does, and they did not, not even once after the first td.

What also annoys me is that it seemed carolina passed twice as much as they ran. They did not keep on pounding the run game, even when it didn't work they didn't keep trying it like they normally do.

It was funny to watch Jake after the game say how he was not going to defend himself, it was a bad game and he was at a loss of words, he didn't know what to say. I thought his comment of him saying he was getting older and he didn't know how much more time he had left might be a little bit telling to the future for carolina...hopefully.

Now that carolina is out, 2 of my 3 hated teams are out, I really don't care about anymore of the games. Suddenly NYG's are sitting very pretty.

Not that I am going to defend the defense, but that game was on Jake's shoulders. You can't turn the ball over 6 times and expect your defense to hold.

I also agree that they gave up on the running game too early.
