I don't think I would call either of them studs. Lincoln is having a good season so far but has never gotten consistent results and he got hit pretty hard in his first big league start. Jose Tabata just isn't that good of a hitter. The Pirates is getting into the youth trend, and no its not Pedro Alvarez. OF Jose Tabata and P Brad Lincoln get a call to the big show.
3B PEDRO ALVAREZ
This former first round product is the organization's top prospect. Ranked the 8th best prospect in Baseball America TOP 100. Displays power as he hit a combined 27 homers and 95 RBI's down in the farms. Played for Team USA in the IBAF World Cup.
All right, time to brign this to the top. Look like it's a 2 team race since the Cardinals can't seem to grasp the concept of offense.
I still think the Reds will falter down the stretch, but this is going to be a tighter division that I thought 2 months ago. 90 wins may win it and if someone gets to 93 I think they are a lock.
Sweet Lou calling it quits after the year.
Paging Ryne Sandberg.

Already at AAA......seems the most logical choice.
Interesting (but not surprising) fact - Sweet Lou in the first Cubs manager in over 70 years to have 3 consecutive winning seasons.
And how bad does it look for Moyer? I missed it but heard he had an injured elbow. Hope it's not too bad.
