The 2016 Summer Olympics - Rio

Women's Individual All Around:

Gold: Simone Biles (USA)
Silver: Aly Raisman (USA)

I have a feeling if all 5 of the American gymnasts had been allowed to compete in the All Around competition, it would have been 1-5 USA.
They have the most spectacular combination of strength and grace. I've never seen anything like it, and I've been watching gymnastics for a LONG time.

Michael Phelps swims in the final of the 200m Individual Medley at 10:01 pm. It has been a signature race for him in his career but he faces a very tough field (including Florida Gator Ryan Lochte). Should be another exciting race.

I just watched Japan vs Australia in women's basketball. What a game!. Japan was the 16 seed and Aussie 2 seed. Japan gave a hell of a fight.

Definitely the most entertaining basketball game I've watched of the Olympics.

Ryan Murphy of the USA takes the Gold in the Men's 200m Backstroke and sweeps the Backstroke events. USA Swimming is the stuff.

Next event 10:34pm for Phelps. Semifinal round of the 100m butterfly.

A tie for the gold medal. That's crazy. They should have a swim-off for the gold. Swim-offs are fun. I coach a swim team, and when kids compete in a swim-off, they usually swim much faster when they know all they have to do is beat the person next to them.

Another really close race in the 100m fly semifinal. Phelps gets 2nd place in the 1st heat by only 0.01 seconds. He was in last place at the turn. He always really turns on the jets that last 50.
