50 total miles today. 5 to work, 45 after. Felt surprisingly good considering after a hard ride last week I felt like crap the rest of the week.

62.5 miles tonight. Started with the fast paced group and ended up being shelled off the back at mile 30. Started cramping. Suffered from some heat exhaustion. Felt miserable after the ride until I ate some tacos.

Went 70 miles on Sunday. I had a bit of a sore throat the night before, and ordinarily wouldn't have gone that far, but I signed up for a century ride on the 20th, so I had to get some miles in.

Suffice it to say I wasn't at full strength. The back half of the ride I started feeling a bit light headed. Fortunately, there was very little traffic on the route, because I felt like I was about to zone out and drift to the middle of the road. Very unusual.

I'm signed up for a ride in Aug. need to decide on a distance. Would like to train for a century but I don't have any friends who are up for it

???

That sounds like manual labor.

It is. Someone has to do it. Moved tons of dirt, cement chunks, and logs to create some awesome trails a mile away from my house. It's 2 miles of singletrack, not a lot but we made the most of the small urban park. It should be finished after one more work day.

I also replaced the cables, housings, and derailleur pulleys on my daily commuter. It rides so much better now. Next up are wheels. At some point the 20 spoke Campagnolo read wheel will fail...

Rain, rain, rain, rain. Every day this June, almost. But hey, I got new shoes and pedals for the commuter bike tonight. Makes me happy. They're so much more comfy than the MTB shoes I had been using.

Tour de France is one of my favorite sporting events to watch. Love coming home and turning it on
