The All Things Cycling Thread

Very true. Had a coworker who's sis-in-law was an ironman triathlete. On a group ride one weekend a log truck ran her over on a long straightaway. He didn't given the proper clearance. The driver didn't even get even get a ticket. Sheriff said they shouldn't have been riding there because there wasn't a shoulder. That just doesn't seem right to me.

wow.. just wow... cycling is a pretty big part of the landscape here in Asheville. i would like to think that the guy would face some kind of charge..

got a little bit of saddle time, in yesterday. Vt, you working that Felt proper?

Got it back in the shop to get the matching fork put on it. Hopefully I'll get some saddle time on Sunday. Weather outlook doesn't look good anytime soon. I have like 10 miles on it total. I have some catching up to do if I plan on doing >3,000 miles this year.

That's amazing, I don't put much over 3K on my truck in a year.

Is also like to say I lost nearly 50lbs doing it, but have gained nearly all of it back. Ugh.

Got a 60 mile fundraiser group ride on May 1st.

I'm down. Now that I have every other weekend off, I'll be taking some cycling trips and logging some major miles.

word.. there are only a few of us, but bike miles will add up quick. gonna try and get a cheap computer next week.

Starting in June, training for 100 mile race. Logging big miles then.

wonder if ill regret getting a cheap one..

$30 is a good price for one. I want one with a heart rate monitor at least, maybe I'll flip for cadence since I found out my frame has the hook ups for it, too. Or I'll probably flip for a roof rack for my car so I don't have to stick my bike in the trunk every time I want to go somewhere.

100 miles? daaaaang... is it running a loop?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

I think its 3 big separate loops. So you ride very little of the same trail. It's in the National Forest near Harrisonburg, VA and there are hundreds of miles of trails. Ride fireroad up the mountains and then singletrack down.

Here is the elevation profile:

Hahaha. Some guy brought in a beautiful Specialized Tarmac Pro that was built with Shimano Tiagra components and random other stuff. I feel bad for the frame. Everything on it has been abused to death.

All finished and ready to ride. I'm contemplating taking it out in the rain right now.

Scored these tonight. I'm now dedicated to building a vintage Italian track frame or full road frame.
