The All Things Cycling Thread

I wear a knee brace at work sometimes and that helps. The problem isn't caused by the pedals, they just make it worse. I think I might have IT band syndrome.

banana bends, where you you grab the band with two hands and bend it one way, then the other, may help. stripping it with your thumb may help as well.

It's cold and rainy today so no ride tonight. Instead I bought a seat pack and I'll be installing the pedals.

Also, I was informed today that I'm the only candidate being considered for advancement at work. So, you know what that means? A better schedule means more time in the saddle or at the LBS wrenching and more money means I can build my dream commuter. Ah yeah.

none for me. :/ congrats on your possible chance of advancement. sounds like you been handling your biz at the shop..

I got the promotion today and my first raise in 3 years. To celebrate, I'm buying one of these next: Amazon.com: Adrenaline Promotions Tennessee Cycling Jersey, Orange: Clothing

I got to ride down to Subway and back. :( Someone walking into the bar next door commented on my bigs balls for riding in this chilly and windy weather.

I want to get that jersey but haven't been able to pull the trigger yet.

Rode about 15 miles yesterday. Beautiful day.

Watched a Criterium saturday night. That was pretty cool. It's like nascar with bikes.

Criteriums are fun. There's one here on Memorial Day that I always go to. It's actually the last of a series that weekend in the area, I think I might hit them all up if I have that weekend off.

I got about 5 miles in yesterday. Friggin cold and windy.

I really want a bike, but I don't know when I would have the time to ride other than early mornings on A1A. Maybe one day.

just get a bike now, and figure out ride times afterwards. youll probably figure out how to move this, cancel that, so you can get more saddle time..

i wonder if they have those here in Asheville..

was riding home on the road yesterday and a pack of road cyclists was approaching, which i had passed the opposite way, earlier in the evening. a newer style jeep comes blowing by them, without giving them the customary distance and there were rednecks in it yelling at them. as they pass me by, they yell at me as well. THEN, right after they pass, one of 2 things happened. either that jeep backfired or they shot off a gun, just to be ***holes. scared the h*** out me and the cyclists. as i said, it could of been a backfire but it was a fairly new jeep. as always, you guys stay alert out there, when you are riding on the road.

I've had some bros yell at me and throw a soda bottle at me once, then immediately get pulled over by a cop that was watching from a parking lot. They got tickets for littering and reckless driving.

Been fortunate. Worst I've had is a couple of teenage girls yell at me. Sure my day is coming

Got a buddy at work who is an avid cyclist. He goes with a large group every Saturday. About a year ago, someone threw a bottle out at a cyclist and hit him right in the face. Large crash ensued and the cyclist needed multiple stitches. Not a pretty site. The MF car got away too.

Worst I've had was being hit from behind in a Wendy's parking lot by a car, then they drove off. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that Levi Leiphiemer (Team Radioshack) has been hit by a car 3 times.

pretty bad stuf you guys are throwing out.. im starting to get used to road riding but i do get off the road when i hear something with a really loud engine or something with a souped up exhaust. guess that is bout the only perk of a mountain bike.
