The All Things Cycling Thread

My wrist is back go 85% now. Just call me Wolverine, I heal so fast. I'll be 100% for my race in 2 weeks.

Talked to Rocky Mountain Bikes today. Looks like we will be a RMB dealer soon. Sweet line up.

30 miles of singletrack today at the mountain bike fest. Test rode a Trek Superfly 29er and a Giant Anthem 29er. I have some very bad choice words for the Giant. It plain sucked compared to the Trek. Full suspension is stupid for this area. I loved the Trek, though. It made up my mind for me that I am moving up to a 29er and I'm going to order the Felt Nine Race ASAP. I hate SRAM X9, also. Loved the SLX on the Trek. The Felt comes with XT. I was hardly ever out of the middle ring on the Trek, including steep climbs. The Giant, however, was a 2x9 and I felt like it had no idea what gear it wanted to be in. My Rocky Mountain is going up for sale. Going back for some more riding tomorrow morning, too.

On Monday I'm ordering a Soma B Side frame for a friend. I'll get to try out a 650b finally.

I hurt today. One hour on the mtb was enough for me today, as all events got rained out at the fest this morning.

Starting to forget what rain is like. It's getting dry.

My bike is so dusty from yesterday. I much prefer the dry, fast trails to the slightly moist trail today. It's definitely better for race day. However, the dust does get in my eyes/nose/mouth/ears.

I cleaned the bike a couple weeks ago, and the dryness has been good for keeping it that way.

Not so good for the lawn.

Ultra marathon? How far is that?

30 miles. i couldn't find time do any long runs of 20+ miles so i didn't run it. kinda glad cause the weather was terrible. it was 50 the day before the race and that morning it dropped below freezing with sleet and snow. no one was dressed properly and froze.

No Strava for me.

A few weeks ago I went for a ride with a guy who had done a 20-mile run the day before, just for the heck of it. I don't get it.
