The All Things Cycling Thread

I have done over night running races. Did the bourbon chase (you run the bourbon trail) last year and doing it again this year. I am also doing the Hood to Cost over night run this year. They are a blast but I have never done anything like that with riding.

Don't really need an organized race. Just plot a route/loop and see how many miles you can ride in X hours.

Organized race gives you competition to shoot for... And usually swag/prizes of some kind. I've gotten a pair of tires and new grips in two races.

I've put in 260 miles in the last 13 days! Not bad for an amateur! Also, I'm starting the process of building my first bike. I'm getting a Trek 1.0 pilot frame and carbon fork tomorrow for $100. Looking for a good groupset to put on it if any of y'all have upgraded lately.

I have a Sora triple front derailleur and a 9-speed (I think) Tiagra rear derailleur lying around. I bet there isn't 100 miles on them. No shifters, unfortunately. I could also sell the brakes off of my road bike. They're Tektro, I believe. I want to upgrade to some lighter ones soon. Email me at budda648 at gmail dot com if you're interested in any of the above. I have drop handlebars and a Campy rear wheel that has a Shimano/SRAM cassette freehub body, too.

Tried to ride a wheelie on the street in front of my house last night. not a good idea when youre clipped in to the bike.

Like I needed more reason to hate Trek, but the UCI has confirmed that three Radioshack-Nissan-Trek team riders have yet to be paid...

The other day I was turning at an intersection and a driver called out of his widow for me to pop a wheelie.
