Same old shoes, though? New pedals take a bit of getting used to, much like a new saddle.

Pre rode the race course this afternoon, soft and tacky but NO MUD. It's fast as hell.

Good luck with the race.... Sounds like the track is to your liking.
The shoes and pedals are both new...my cheap ass bike came with standard pedals. I bought low end to see if I'd enjoy riding... I figure I'll keep it this year and then buy something better next spring.

CP, keep riding and your feet should get used to them.

I got 15th in the race. Fast as hell. 6th entering the woods, 8th after lap 1, went down on lap 2, then kind of blew up and held on for dear life. Goal was top 20.

11+ miles on mtb. I can run for 5+ hrs but 10 minutes into the ride my legs said "what the hail you doing?" still averaged about 8 mph.

Opposite for me. I can't even run 1/4 mile, winded at 150m. I can run a mean 100m dash, though, for a fat guy.

They were much better on the Saturday ride....I think I've gotten used to them now. I want to upgrade my saddle now...my junk occasionally goes numb after 45 minutes or so.

Good job on the race...you hit your goal. I'm trying tp prepare my fat ass for a couple of centuries in a couple of months

Saddles are difficult. I like Fizik. If you can find a shop with a test ride program, do that. You can test ride different saddles, take notes, and then decide which is better. We have a WTB program and people seem to be happy with that.

30 days of biking is over... fell asleep right away last night. However, my 650b conversion is finished. So stoked.

Ouch. You should have ended the 30 days a day earlier.

It ended yesterday, but I was just running a DVD back to Redbox. Took a route I've taken 100 times before, too, just didn't have my bright lights on. At least the bleeding has stopped, now I wish I could feel my left fingers.

Well I bought a Specialized Roubaix yesterday. Looking forward for it to get in so I can ride. I was able to go on about a 10 mile test ride and it felt great.

Weren't you considering a Tarmac? Why the change to a completely different style of road bike?

Does the Roubaix have the "Zert" crap?

Tonight I rode up the hill I crashed on on Tuesday night... there's blood everywhere on the pavement. Looks like someone was shot there. Even after it rained all day today. It was too dark to take pictures, but it's raining again right now.

I ordered a Kali Maraka XC to replace my busted Giro Hex helmet. Lighter weight and a lot more comfortable than the Hex. No removable visor though, that's the downside.

Yeah I was, but the ride on the Roubaix was amazing. Tarmac felt good, but the Roubaix just seemed to ride so smooth and it felt really good riding on it. Plus I do not race, so it just seems like the better option. Yeah it does have the Zert system which is extremely ugly.

busted the helmet? damn dude....you didn't crack the mellon did you?

No, helmet did its job. It's not completely busted like my first helmet, but after the hit it took it has been compromised. That said, I'm using it tonight, but no off-road. There's a picture of my bloody face on Facebook, but can't seem to get it to upload on here. Just busted upper lip and road rash on the chin. The road rash on my left hand is the worst, though. Hurts so bad to shower.

The Zert system is a gimmick. The Roubaix is designed as comfort over speed. A properly designed carbon layup is better and lighter.

Got pulled over on my road bike. Was going 28 in a 20... beyond ridiculous. Fat cop didn't have anything better to do than set a speed trap on a residential road and pull over a bicyclist. No ticket, though.

If I ever get a speeding ticket, I might frame it. The police always ignore me in the school zone where I have the best chance of getting pulled over. Idiots.
