Random Questions:

Well, as the UTAD has now confirmed two (2) automobile accidents involving X (link: http://www.wate.com/Global/story.asp?S=11846582 ), I'll separate them, below:




August Accident
  • Why the hesitancy / inability / refusal to be forthcoming in the timeline of events - either by UTAD, Lexus of Knoxville, or any of the many stories now being posted on various media sites? Couldn't the UTAD clear this up pretty quickly? Why aren't they being asked to do so - and why should they have to be specifically asked to produce this rather standard piece of information?
  • Similiarly, why hasn't the specific site of the wreck been identified? While Tools Bend Road has been identified as where the accident occurred, it stretches for miles in either direction - both before and after the intersection adjacent to his home.
  • Did the UTAD conduct an internal investigation of this matter or not? If so, what were the official findings, and to whom were they presented?
  • If an internal investigation was conducted, how many coaches were interviewed and which coach was the last to see him in the football complex at midnight? Would it matter if it were his father, Monte? Coach Gran?
  • Tiffany Carpenter states that the accident occurred, "around 2:00 -3:00am". I wonder if she's certain of the accuracy of that statement, or if it was an approximation?
  • Would some speculate as to X's whereabouts in the interim between leaving the football complex and the time of the accident were a significant time had elapsed between the two?
  • A poster on another message board says that Chestnutt Street Towing towed the car to the dealership. I wonder what time they were first contacted, and more importantly, by whom? Surely it was X, as soon as he arrived home, right? If not, why not?
  • Tiffany Carpenter remarked that X was, "going home to see his family". In absence of the date of the accident, it would appear impossible to verify that they were, in fact, in town on that unknown date.
  • The Lexus statement says that the, "proper authorities were called"....who do they consider to be the, "proper authority" in this instance? Certainly not the police, because they have no record of such an incident. Maybe he meant a member of Lexus of Knoxville, or the UTAD, or both, or neither.
  • The statement also says that Coach X's insurance was contacted and paid the claim. Was that insurance in his personal name, or the University's on his behalf? If so, it would seem to also be obtainable beneath the FOIA. That report might be very enlightening.
  • Besides X, were there any passengers in the car at the time of the accident?
  • How much damage was done to the automobile at the time of the accident? Some have speculated that the car sustained over $30K in damage, and was totalled. Can this be confirmed?
  • How fast was X travelling at the time of the accident? Surely it was couldn't have been more than 30mph, considering it was in his subdivision.
  • Besides the car, what other property was damaged, if any? Was it personal or governmental property, and and who is responsible for the restitution of those damages, should they exist? And if so, have they since been remitted?
Last Week's Wreck
  • Who was the driver of the vehicle, if not X?
  • What was the specific date, time and location of that accident?
  • What was the damage to that car?

I would think it would have to be the University's, as it would essentially be a company vehicle for him. Also, I wonder if the proper authorities were the UTPD. They have jurisdiction all over TN, believe it or not. It would be a lot easier to cover up by using them instead of contacting the sheriff's department. KPD has doesn't have any jurisdiction out there.

As you know, Lexus of Knoxville supplies the UT coaches with their vehicles.

What you may not know is that these dealerships are under shared ownership by the White Family.

And that the owner of Lexus of Knoxville lives just down the street from X's old house.

Likley he travels down Tool Bend Road, the site of X's wreck, as it runs adjacent to his street toward Pellissippi Parkway.

I wonder if he would have noticed a Lexus crashed on the side of the road, for instance, on his way to work? I wonder if he would have also noticed that it appeared to be the same make, model and color as the one which was being driven by X? Maybe, or maybe not. Pure speculation.

Oh, the guy's name who released the cryptic and largely useless press release from Lexus of Knoxville yesterday? Andy WHITE.

Probably means nothing.

what self respecting football coach drives a lexus anyway? i want a coach with 40 inch mudders, you dont know what color it is because of all the mud, banged up brush gaurd with a winch and a shotgun rack in the back windshield and with a horn that sounds like the General Lee...lol:)

The Whites aren't the only family that live down that road that are big UT boosters. It could have been a number of people that helped him out in a wreck.

Are you camped out in the neighborhood? Jesus, talk about making a stretch with the speculation. White is a pretty common name, hell you probably know several people in your own small world with that last name. Any proof to back any of this up? NO, just like all the other speculation on here about our coach, that is all it is. He had a wreck, it was paid for by the insurance. Time for Rocky Top to get on with their lives already!

I cannot understand HOPING this stuff is true, just because he did us wrong as a football coach. I mean, if this is true, then it will hurt his wife and children. Why would we want that, just to see him get humiliated?

And looking at his wife, it would only show his own stupidity for doing something like that to begin with. But where is the compassion for them, in our desire to see Kiffin be brought down? What did they do to deserve that?
