Blown offside for a shoulda-been Boyd goal. Sucks, because it looked really good too. Caught a pass off Alhassan off the back foot, popped it over to the right foot and got it past the goalie.

Donovan with his first goal of the season to equalize it in the last minutes of the half.

Perkins has made some solid saves so far, but Galaxy is getting too many looks.

Kansas City is going nukkin futs... 6-0 start.

The thing that worries me is that we've only 2 multiple goal games and only 1 win by multiple goal. Been a lot of 1-0 games...

But for now, we celebrate! My brother went up and saw the game when LA was in town and fell in love with LiveStrong Field. Haven't been yet myself

Points are points. Should make for a strong finish in the east

No doubt. If KC doesn't fall back, it may not be much of a race though.

Until stoppage time against RSL, Sporting had a streak of 335 minutes without allowing a shot on goal... Insane

Super pissed about that result last night. I'd say Sporting slightly outplayed RSL, but not enough to deserve 3 points, especially at home. They scored on a corner where Saborio (a striker) completely lost his man. Kinda flukey.

Sporting KC is the best team. Their style is a lot like RSL but they are more physical. I'd say those are the 2 best teams in the league, and the "game of the season" didn't disappoint. It was a good one.

Looked up KC's schedule, because I want to see when they play NYRB. Would be one of those unstoppable force meets immovable object type situations (NY has scored 16 goals through 6 games, KC has allowed 1 through the same).

They don't play until August.

Not that predictions mean much but Sporting's next 5 games are @Vancouver, @Portland, Montreal, Chicago, and @Colorado. All of whom are at 9 points or less...

Messi is a once in a 20 year span kind of player. Neymar will not even be close to Messi
I think that's probably going a little too far. He's the best in the world right now, and he may go down as the greatest ever some day, but I'm 21 and as of right now, I'd consider him the third best player of my lifetime.

Who are you putting ahead of him? I'm 24 and the only guy I can think of would be Zinedine and I'd still take Messi

How much of Zinedine Zidane did you watch? He retired when you were 15 years old.

I just have never seen any other play have such an impact on a game like Messi. He sets other people up for goals almost as well as he finishes. And that's saying a lot for someone who banged in 60+ goals this season.

I watched him as early as the 1998 World Cup and in Euro 2000 as well.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a player have an impact on his team like Zidane did for France. Look at France's performance in the major international competitions since the mid 90's when Zidane became a big part of the team. When he was healthy, they were among the best. When he was hurt, they were irrelevant trash.

When he retired, he was arguably the best player in the world, and he was 34.

Zidane's performance against Brazil in the 2006 World Cup was otherworldly. And Messi has performances like that all the time.
