Fortunate result for Chelsea. Absolutely poor finishing from basically everyone on Barcelona. Let's go to the Nou Camp.

Barcelona is good but their players are so annoying.

No doubt. I don't really understand why anyone outside of the Barcelona region finds it entertaining to cheer for them. Being a Barca fan is literally like hanging around a blackjack table in Vegas and rooting for the house to win.

Playing the most entertaining football in the world wouldn't have anything to do with it. Nor the best player in the world. Nah.

Nope, they just were not that good. All of the talent they have now was still developing.
They may not have been the best in the world, but their talent certainly merited more that they were getting out of it.

To be fair, they did get screwed by some horrible calls in the 2002 World Cup, and they were unlucky to get France in the second round of the 2006 World Cup, but yes, they were underachieving.

Not really. Until about 05 Spain was a slightly better than average European team and finished so. Argentina has had WAY more talent than Spain the last 20 years and haven't won a thing since 93. The only other team I can think of that has underachieved near their level would be Holland.

If you are English then yes. But that is only because they just expect to just naturally win everything soccer related even though they are never the favorite and are always missing one thing or another.

The English national team is so overrated going into every international competition.

You were talking about the previous decade, and you're overrating their talent over that time span. They weren't as good as Brazil, which is why they kept coming up short in the Copa America. They underachieved at the 2002 World Cup, but that was about it.

Spain was certainly better than the teams who knocked them out at the 2002 and 2006 world cups, and they should have at least made it out of the group at Euro 2004.

I always love hearing English people talk about their expectations going into major tournaments. It was comical when people were saying it would be an enormous upset if we could somehow take down one of the 'favorites' when talking about the USA-England game. Anyone who thought England had a shot at winning the last world cup was either misinformed or stupid.

Drogba's goal made up for his diving. He also really had an excellent solo game out front, holding onto the ball. Gives me hope that old Didi may have one more good WC left in him.
