Not saying they aren't amazingly talented, because it's obvious that they are. I'm just saying, aside from people who actually live in Barcelona, I'm not real sure what the international appeal is for a team who 95% of their games are foregone conclusions.

Oh please, you talk about the USMNT like they are actually good. Dempsey literally winning the lottery against that pos keeper. If you think that we're gonna advance out of groups in the next WC, IF we even qualify, then you sir should be a comedian bc you'll make me laugh all day.

There cannot be a dispute about the talent level that England possesses. For want of a keeper or a manager who knows how to select the best 23 possible and England would be a force to reckon with.

Keep being satisfied with our failure of a national team and I'll keep cheering for England. We'll see who wins their next WC first, I guess that would be the US's first wouldn't it?

I don't cheer for Barca but I do love watching them play, unless its a EUFA game against MU... They play beautiful football and how could you not enjoy watching the little magician?

Who won the group? America, or that ridiculously overhyped squad with a set of garbage goalies, forwards as worthless as Crouch and Heskey, and an old, racist defender who's more concerned screwing his teammates' wives than actually winning. Some captain there. With such leadership, how could England fail?

Heskey and crouch are garbage and I'm on record saying that. Now with Rooney pairing with someone like Welbeck or Bent or Defoe (eh) or one of the younger guys were in business. Terry is old and needs to be taken out with the trash. Give me a back line with the likes of cahill and jones, with cole out left and Johnson or someone speedy out right. On the wings young and Walcott. In the center have lamps and gerrard, until they can't play any longer. Play that lineup and you win. Not even to mention the ridiculous subs you could play (hell I'd even take Beckham in my 23)

You talk about France and Italy talent? Where the hell has that talent been? Back on the bus or in wheelchairs?

Now the keeper situation needs to figure itself out but it is in the works. Englands youth looks good, much better than the youth were producing in our country. So how can you say we're progressing, clearly we've been regressing the last 2 years, and our U-23 loss most recently just solidifies this. No hope for the future.

Talent isn't the problem in England, it's too much drama. Seriously, they just don't get along.

Also Italy and France have won a hell of a lot
more since the last time England won anything.

Indeed. I didn't mention about a dozen or so amazing young players (U-25) bc it was late and I was just trying to make the point that England's talent is light years ahead of the US.

Btw, let's get a W Sunday so we still have the margin against city if SHTF against them next match.

I'm not saying England doesn't have any good players, but they're a long, long way off from really consistently competing with the top teams in Europe.

I pull for Deutschland and don't see anything wrong with it. I pull for the US of course, too, but I've been pulling for Germany/West Germany for quite a while.

That's tough depending on the situation. If it was a WC final, I would pull for the US...probably a semi final as well. But the US is nowhere near that, so they would only play the part of spoiler against Germany and I would root for Germany because they would have a stronger chance of advancing. I wouldn't be sad if the US won, though.

Won't make me popular here, but just being honest.

It's not pulling for another country over the US (at least not for me). I still want the US to win every game and would cheer for them over England, but still say that I'm an England fan. Your homerism is what's depressing. Its the most international sport in the world get it over it.

I don't mind if someone wants to cheer for another team. However, if your reasoning is that the US isn't good enough to win the cup, I don't see why you would cheer for another team that isn't good enough to win.
