Exciting and useless result.

Yep. Now all they can do is win their final two games against Stoke and Sunderland and then sit back and pray for a miracle in Arsenal dropping points to Newcastle or Wigan. Otherwise, without the CL cash, it'll likely be so long to Gareth Bale, and with him, probably so long to Spurs being a legit challenger to the Big Four in the coming years. Kind of a shame really. I'd much rather see Spurs playing CL football than Arsenal.

Wait, what?

The rules are that the FA cup champion is guaranteed a spot in the Europa league group stages. But with man city already qualifying for the CL, the runners up automatically get that spot. So Wigan is in the group stages no matter the outcome of Saturdays final.

Wigan is the wild card. Stoke is probably already staying up, Wigan needs points and gooners haven't looked brilliant lately. I think there's a decent chance they drop points.

Okay, thanks. I wasn't sure how that worked.

On a side note, here are a few interesting tidbits from today.

Sky Sports is reporting that Moyes is leaving Everton at season's end to become the new manager at Manchester United.

A statement on Everton's official website read: "Everton can confirm that David Moyes will leave the Club at the end of the season.

"The Manager met Chairman Bill Kenwright early yesterday evening (Wednesday 8th May) and confirmed his desire to join Manchester United.

"The Chairman, on behalf of the Club, would like to place on record his thanks to David for the massive contribution he has made to Everton since his arrival in March 2002. He has been an outstanding Manager.

"During his tenure at Goodison Park, David has taken charge of the team on over 500 occasions including four European campaigns.

"His final two games as Everton Manager will be the remaining Premier League matches against West Ham United and Chelsea. Everton officials will start the search for a replacement manager immediately."

Gus Johnson and Ian Wright are horrible. They're going to completely ruin the cl final in a couple of weeks.

I love Gus Johnson doing football or basketball games, but he's been out of his element so far in soccer. Apparently he's being groomed to call the US WC games in 2018 and 2022 once Fox gets the rights to it. I was actually initially really excited by this, but after hearing him call some of the CL games this year, I know I'm REALLY going to miss Ian Darke. Once he's be at it for a while Johnson may well grow into the job, but he has struggled with a lot of the names so far. I don't know why it is, but I just feel I enjoy hearing British commentators call soccer matches than Americans. Maybe the accent lends a certain credibility to the things they are saying.

Talk about feast or famine. Wigan is probably getting relegated, but they won the FA Cup today and like I mentioned earlier, qualified for Europa League next year. If they can't figure out a way to stay up and receive Premier League money, they going to get steamrolled in European competition next year.

I love Gus Johnson, but he's horrible doing soccer. He mistaked Dani Alves for Pique multiple times. How is that possible?

There's about a 9 inch height difference. He kept doing it too. Didn't correct himself. Martin Tyler will always be my favorite.

"Mancini, whoaaaaa, Mancini, whoaaaa. We've got the trophy back, and now he's got the sack." - United fans yesterday during the match against Swansea City.
