Champions League draw. Anyone watching?

Just curious, what kind of talent do you think we have? Because it's certainly not bad.I think it the lack of talent has a bit to do with it as well..

We were a bit banged up on defense, but we should never have played Ricardo Clark. In four years, we better be seeing Torres getting a hell of a lot more playing time than Edu, Clark, or Holden in the midfield.
We're a borderline top 10 in talent. You're focusing too much on name recognition. The talent of France, England, and Portugal are all wildly overrated. None of those 3 deserve to be mentioned with the other teams you listed. Especially England. They're fans are concerned with the lack of young talent they have. Can you say you believe we are on par with the talent of France, Italy, England, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, etc? I wouldn't even feel comfortable in saying that we will have more talent than Ghana or Mexico in the 2014 WC unless some players come on strong..
Are our players bad? No. Do we lack the talent that other major countries have? Most definitely.

Strange week in the EPL. I like the way Arsenal is playing right now. Can't wait to see them play better teams. Too bad that Liverpool match was in the first week. They'd beat them right now.
Joe Hart will be good, but no way I trade our young talent for theirs. And as far as the French players, their talent is vastly overrated, including Ribery. They have some very solid defenders I'd kill for our on national team. Their midfield is wildly overhyped and their forwards are athletic, but anyone expecting them to dominate is crazy. Just because FIFA 10 says France is good doesn't mean France is good. Their world cup failure was easy to predict.Say what you want but England, France, and Portugal have more talent than we do.. So, if you feel that those teams shouldn't be mentioned with the top teams I would hate to see where we are.
If you think France has a lack of talent you are crazy.. I would take any of these guys any day (not counting the suspension BS)
Anelka, Ribery, Benzema, Malouda, Gourcuff, Sagna, Clichy, Evra, Mexes, Lassana Diarra, Abidal, and Hugo Lloris..
I would even take a lot of their 2nd string..
Some teams just don't translate their talent into a team effort, but that doesn't make them any less talented. I would like to see who you think has talent that isn't overrated.
As far as England, I think Joe Hart, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, and a few others show promise.. Also, Rooney is only 24 and the new Rooney- Nick Powell is only 16.

At no point did England, France, or Portugal have a good shot at winning this World Cup. In fact, none of them even played a really good game, and it's not because they have awful coaching (except France). Comparing their talent to a team like Germany is laughable. They all have more talent than us right now, but not by that much, and we may pass them up in a few years.
As far as where the debate started, we didn't make it further because we choked. We should have beaten Ghana, and to be honest, we didn't play to our potential in any game.
Things could always not pan out, but we're getting much better. In the next 20 years we'll have established ourselves as a constant contender for the World Cup, IMO.Edit: I would also like to add that I hope you are right. I hope that our young talent proves to show great promise and we do well in future WC's. It is just intimidating to see how well Brazil was performing when their kids are only 18-21. They are going to be unbelievable, but hey! who knows?
