City looked solid against Swansea yesterday.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Not sure why I haven't discovered this thread before, but I never miss a MANU game, or many other EPL games for that matter. Also watch MLS, Bundes, Serie A, Liga, etc etc.

City looked good yesterday, more so in the second half after Aguero came on. Need to remember it was newly promoted Swansea, but still heck of a performance.

I'm terrified of playing against Aguero. I hope they roll with Dzeko the next time we play them, but wishful thinking.

Calling it now, Aguero will win the EPL golden boot, and I hate City.

Aguero looked amazing yesterday. They should honestly play Aguero behind Dzeko. And it's pretty amazing to watch David Silva. He's basically the fuel to their offense. It's fun watching such a diminutive player dictate a game so much in a very physical league.

The thing I hate is that Dzeko played really well also. He was the main set up guy in the 2nd half success. He could fill in as a CF behind Aguero and that would just cause all kinds of trouble, but I am hoping that the conflict of trying to play all of their stars will cause them to drop points. :)

Also, I hate City as well..

One thing I took from the game as well is that I do not believe Swansea will be relegated. If they stay healthy they should be able to stay up.

Also still crossing my fingers Sneijder to MU, or Goetze at least.

Anderson is decent, but by no means reliable. Carrick looked like rubbish in the preseason. Fletcher is on-again/off-again dying from some mystery illness (bad Taco Bell?), and Giggs, who will probably play more midfield this year as his pace keeps declining, is ancient. The only one I am excited to see is Cleverly, I think he's gonna surprise some folks this year, especially after his great form last year for Wigan to prevent relegation.

We need a midfielder, and deep down Fergie knows it.

Fergie has been praising his youth and I am not so sure he will move for another midfielder at this point. If he buys a midfielder, in my opinion, it will be in January if he sees problems with what he currently has.

I have heard a lot of speculation that City is actually offering up a swap + cash deal for Sneijder by giving Inter Tevez. This makes a lot of sense because Inter was interested in taking him on and offloading Sneijder anyways. With Eto'o moving to Russia it wouldn't be a bad move. Then, they could use the cash to move for someone like Marek Hamsik. I have heard they are praising Ricky Alvarez to take up his role as well though.

I agree with that about Swansea. I think they can keep out of the bottom 3, but still in bottom half of the table, but we'll see.

I followed Dzeko at Wolfsburg, and its clear he's loaded with talent. I figured it would take him a season to transition into the EPL to regain top form. I fear he is about to, partnering with the "better attitude" Argentine, with Silva behind them laying the foundation like you pointed out.

They will finish top-4, definitely above Arsenal (who look like absolute rubbish in their opener, and now dropping players like its hot. Also LOVED Gervinho's RC against Joey Barton!), and quite possibly Liverpool and Chelsea.

But MU shall prevail like always :)

I wasn't too impressed about Swansea yesterday. Yes, they dominated possession, but they did absolutely nothing with it. Remind me a lot of Blackpool last year, who were relegated.

I've heard the news but refuse to believe that a swap will occur. First, Sneijder has made it clear that he favors MU over City several-fold. Second, City already has too many players. They're about to sign Nasri this week (by best guesses). How many AM's can you play at the same time? Maybe go to a 4-2-3-1, but then you have 1 striker playing, so who's it gonna be? Edin, Kun, Carlos (if he stays), Not-Super Mario, and more.

Too much talent in my opinion to keep bringing in so many stars. Gonna cause an implosion.

Also read this morning that City are asking Sneijder to lower his wage demands... really? this sounds all way too familiar.

I could see that tho, about SAF waiting until Jan window to sign someone, if he sees the need. If he wants to win another European title before he retires, he's gonna need to see the need for star power in midfield to compete with barca and real.

Yeah, but I just have a better feeling about them.. Their keeper, Vorm??, appeared to have what it takes to keep them in games (when he isn't just being stretched beyond his limits), and I think that they will beat the bottom tier teams with their amount of possession and cleverness.

Just an educated guess.

We will see what happens.. I am an Arsenal fan so I hope some things happen for the good. Personally, I thought the red card, or more-so the lack of one for Barton, was an absolute disgrace. If Barton gets a yellow for dragging him off of the ground then Gervinho gets one for tapping his head, JMO.

I am still sticking to my guns and saying Man U, Man C, Chelsea and Arsenal round out the top 4. I think that even at Arsenal's worse they still have more firepower and ability than people give them credit.

Keep in mind we weren't only missing Cesc and Nasri in the opener but Wilshere as well.. Who wouldn't draw with your top 3 playmakers in the midfield missing? Plus, I would be incredibly surprised if he didn't bring in replacements with how thin we are in the center right now. Don't count us down just yet. I mean, Chelsea and Liverpool also drew and you guys almost dropped points (and should have) against West Brom.

Since you are a Gunner, I meant no disrespect. Have some very good friends who are Gunners, so we always have fun jabbing each other.

Barton deserved the same as Gervinho, since he lifted him from the ground by his collar, but Gervinho was simply stupid reaching around and swatting him in the face. Hands to the face is almost always going to be a RC. Gervinho had actually been a bright spot IMO prior to that.

Wilshere is up and coming and I expect big things out of him for the future. However, Arsene needs to spend and spend big. He has the cash so break out the checkbook. Of course I hope he does no such thing, but it needs to happen, before Sept. 1.

I'm more than a little concerned about De Gea at this point, but we will have to wait and see. Some big games coming up soon for both our teams.

My table prediction is MU, City, 'Pool, Arsenal/Chelsea. I think Chelsea are going to struggle more than expected this year. An aging squad that needs fresh blood, and no not Torres :) I think Arsenal can finish top 4, but the money needs to flow now.

That's a little better. haha

But yeah, I think he buys Cahill and someone like Marvin Martin. That wouldn't be too bad in my opinion. After Gibbs went off today with a hamstring and then his replacement Djourou doing the exact same thing.. Shows Wenger what is needed, as if he didn't already know.

I love Cahill. If we didn't sign Phil Jones, I would have said Cahill, regardless that he's a few years older. I like Fergie's dedication to signing the younger guys, but I think Cahill would be right at that mark.

Cahill's goal on opening day was pretty nasty as well.

I agree completely. I think he would just look right as a Gunner.

If anything he moves to Bayern to form a partnership with Steiger...

Never leaves Germany just like you said.

As much as I would love to see it, Dortmund would never sell him to Bayern and I doubt they would let his contract run out.

If you are a Madrid fan, you should be embarrassed.

Marcelo is and always has been a punk. Disgraceful scissor take down of Fabregas. Disgraceful Mourinho twisting ears. He will not be the next manager of MU.

Super sick goals by Messi though. Almost feel bad for Ronaldo, just for all the embarrassment caused by his team. Sad.

Either way, it was a typical El Clasico.
