The Association Football Thread

Group A is brutal and group G is pointless. I was really hoping City would have gone to Group H, that would have been awesome.

Tough draw for you Arsenal fans, too.

Tough but they should still advance. By the time the groups stage rolls around they should be in better position. Wilshere and most of the other injured players will be back and HOPEFULLY they will have signed some more players by then.

I wouldn't say that they "should". They were very lucky Di Natalie didn't put away more of the opportunities he had. People forget Dortmund won the Bundesliga and play fantastic ball. Marseille isn't a walk in the park either. They need to spend the Fabregas and Nasri money quickly

It's not going to be easy but they are still favored to advance. They will be healthier by then and they played great the 2nd half against Udinese.

I guess he's only got 4 goals left this season. damn.

And jackwagon? When someone says how many goals, they mean LEAGUE goals. Not some bs carling cup goal over Exeter, which is 2 divisions below EPL.

Carling cup is almost always played with 2nd team squads, so get real.

I don't think you'll find many Gooners angry at Fabregas for leaving. We knew he was going back to Barca at some point, just a matter of when.

Na$ri on the other hand...

You think you know way more about football than you actually do.

Everything in my statement is true. And I know a helluva lot about football so don't start that kinda rubbish. Someone who makes the statement challenging someone's knowledge of the game means "you think you're smarter than me".

If you want to start some sort of trivia pissing contest, then we can take it to PM's.

Football and Association Football are my two passions. Sorry if I come of arrogant in my views but this a vol message board with a soccer thread, not really lots of action on this thread but I'm very happy it exists so I can rub dirt everywhere once Utd wins the treble this year (that's not happening but hey always hope).

You just talk like you are the almighty soccer knowledge god. It's quite obnoxious.

Easy fix. Ignore button.

I watch every game that I can from almost every major league like I said. I read more soccer news than any other sport, and I love sports. Not trying to say I'm an almighty soccer knowledge God or anything like that, but I definitely pride myself in knowledge of the sport from around the world. Sorry if you think its obnoxious, but posts saying the word obnoxious are obnoxious.

Alright Gunners, Ill be up at 5am Hawaii time to watch this game live. I'll temper my trash talking comments, but will cry like a baby if y'all beat us. I figured full disclosure would be appreciated.

Either way, tomorrow should be a very exciting game, and good luck to y'all (not sarcastic).

**** got real while I was away from the board...

but yeah Arsenal is going to be fielding a reserve team tomorrow so we will see what happens. Hopefully, Ramsey plays you like he did last year and Van Persie opens up (which is bound to happen sooner or later).

Don't be surprised if something big happens. This team is young but has a lot of belief in themselves right now.

respect to Norwich for the game they played today. The scoreline was flattering to Chelsea. Hope Drogba's okay though.

Also, I've realized that, when the first thing I check in the EPL each week is how Bolton's doing, even when Stu isn't playing, that probably makes me a Trotter fan. This was not the best week to realize that.

I cannot wait for a healthy Holden to be back in usmnt lineup.

GGMU. See you all in the morning. We owe the Gunners for almost screwing up our season last year. :)
