I think they tried to compensate for it a little bit in this past draft by taking approximately 46 third basemen. Kinda the throw enough ish at the wall and hope one sticks approach.

I'm so ready for Mike to get his chance to shine, I played against him in High School and he was absolutely dominant. Glad the Braves picked him up, he'll be fun to watch.

The Glavine ceremony was well deserved and nicely done. Anyone else notice Sutton calling Hank the "All-time Home Run King?" Nice touch.

Wow . . . Could they have tried any harder to have a screwy 9th inning? Wagner gets another blown save, but he didn't deserve that one.

Definitely not the way to start an inning, but if the Braves play any defense whatsoever, the game would have been in the win column about 15 minutes ago.

I'm not going to cut Wagner much slack since he's stopped striking batters out lately. When you hit the first guy and then give up a bunch of balls in play, you open yourself up to that.

Eh, I don't really blame Jones too much. To have a shot of getting the out at home, he had to already have his feet and shoulders turned sideways, and that put him in a terrible fielding position, and it's not exactly like Chipper is Brooks Robinson out there to begin with. If he played the ball straight up, then he'd probably have fielded the ball, but then by the time he turned his body, made the transfer, and threw home, there's no way he would have got the ball there in time for McCann to get a tag down. It was a do or die play and he didn't.

I can understand them coming out for Tom Glavine night or to see Lincecum, but it's a little surprising that they got 47,000+ in there last night. That's a crazy high number for Turner Field in August unless it's the Phillies or an interleague game.

Freeman's last 57 games (since the injury) .325 BA 10HR 45 RBI. Glaus just seems beat up. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a 15 day DL stint to heal up while giving the kid a chance to show what he's got. If nothing else Freeman has all but assured he'll be our 1B in spring training.

On paper, one wouldn't think that lineup could beat a playoff caliber team, let alone by a fairly comfortable 3-run margin.

Once Prado is back, and assuming nobody else goes on the DL, what would your starting lineup be?

Here's mine:

1B or 2B - Infante
1B or 2B - Prado
3B - Chipper (so frustrating, but we need him)
RF - Heyward
C - McCann
LF - Diaz
CF - Cabrera
SS - Gonzalez
P - Hudson, Jurrjens, Hanson, Lowe

I just think we need Omar's bat in the lineup every day, and if it means trying him at first, or moving Prado to first, then do it.
