My point and OPINION is that the difference in overall defense between big leaguers is negligible yet the difference from the offensive side is astronomical in some cases.

I don't trust the modern advanced fielding stats much either, but that's just silly.

Simmons' defense is so good that I wouldn't trade him for an average-fielding SS who hit .300, unless that .300 included 30 HRs. To say that the difference between his defense and, say, Ian Desmond's is "negligible" is just silly.

How the hell can you say that after watching the last two games and this season as a whole. You can use your advance stats BS all you want, but there is no way that BJ makes that catch that Schafer did tonight. You people are stuck in the past. Schafer has improved in the last few years and BJ has failed miserably in the NL.

I concede this. However, the smallest gap in talent and instincts can be the difference in a game in CF.

BlowHard's career fielding percentage is like 99%.

Albert Pujols has a career batting average of .321. I would much rather have Pujols on my team in 2013 than Chris Davis and his measly career .267 average. Not to mention that Pujols has hit 492 career HRs compared to Davis and his 120.
