Great job by Freddie to not use a pinch hitter in the 7th so Medlen (who did not have a good 6th inning) can walk one batter.

Geesh.

Your use of the word "negligible." The difference in value between an extremely good fielder at an important defensive position and an average fielder can be enormous.

Ok, enlighten me. Got any examples? Lets focus on SS since I'm guessing that's in "your" important defensive position category.

And it remains funny to me that everyone is trying to focus on defense and defense alone when that was not what was discussed in Bradley article that started all this...

Simmons' defense is so good that I wouldn't trade him for an average-fielding SS who hit .300, unless that .300 included 30 HRs. To say that the difference between his defense and, say, Ian Desmond's is "negligible" is just silly.

I have no idea what Bradley article you're talking about. I missed it.

Lol so prove to me it isn't negligible. What stats are you using to form your opinion? Fill me in on the runs "saved" or anything else you'd like to cite.

Blowhard actually is a better fielder than your boy J-Blaze

How the hell can you say that after watching the last two games and this season as a whole. You can use your advance stats BS all you want, but there is no way that BJ makes that catch that Schafer did tonight. You people are stuck in the past. Schafer has improved in the last few years and BJ has failed miserably in the NL.
