How about Jean Segura? Hanley Ramirez?

Same question.

I'd rather have Segura. I don't know how good his D is because I haven't watched much of him, although he seems slightly below average on D (although SSS). Scouts seem to think he has room to grow.

In case you didn't know, Segura/Tulo both have higher WAR than Andrelton.

I'd make the case that Simmons is a top five shortstop in baseball, with the list looking somewhat like Tulo, Segura, Desmond, and Peralta

My point and OPINION is that the difference in overall defense between big leaguers is negligible yet the difference from the offensive side is astronomical in some cases.

It can be, yes, but not entirely.

I also factor in defensive position value. For example, if you have a bad defensive left fielder or someone at first like Prince Fielder, who is just a monster on the offensive end, then I don't really see how it matters. They are great players and highly valuable. However, when you have a truly elite defensive player, it does make a big difference.

Since we are talking advanced metrics, to show how worthless wins can be. Felix Hernandez is 103-25 when given two runs or more of run support.

His career record: 110-81

Realized I picked B.J. Upton last night and not in the lineup so I went Schafer. Definitely got that 5.6 mil

I've had it with this clown BJ. He can't play defense nor can he hit. He has the worst attitude on the team to boot. Blessed with tremendous athleticism yet lacking any kind of instinctual acuity in center field, he is the anti Andruw Jones. It's too bad that money is all that matters when the lineup card is turned in. Send him to Siberia. While we're at it, let's also get rid of that stinking POS Uggla. Schafer to CF and Pastornicky to 2B. There is absolutely no reason not to do this other than money. Schafer, while due for regression, is still 100 times the defender BJ is while providing a bat that at least has some potential to be productive every once in a while, unlike BJ. Pastornicky sucks at defense, but so does Uggla. Pastornicky is a career .249 hitter, but that sounds a hell of a lot better than the sub-mendoza line Uggla. Because Uggla at least has a team-first attitude, I think he should be sent to Detroit instead of Siberia.

I'm sorry that you guys don't agree with me, but I couldn't care less because the one guy who does agree also happens to be the manager.
