For those with Showtime, Ray Donavan premiere tonight: good, not great. Will give it a few more weeks to see how it shakes out but I don't have high hopes.

Same thoughts here. Kind of dissapointed, because I had fairly high hopes for it.

Your random great Vol highlight of the night:

Must now post my favorite gif

This wouldn't work in gif form because the sound is necessary. It was from a Jimmy Kimmel "This Week In Unnecessary Censorship" clip.

Lofton was one of the few dudes who had an honest stretch of being able to look college JJ in the face and say "yeah... and?"

I'm a military kid and my dad had to leave us for six months (we did see him on a few weekends) so that Sportscenter segment hit home hard.

Dude hit contested 3's like they were layups. His junior year when he carried that UT team to a Sweet Sixteen never got his full due.

Hate to be guilty of romanticizing all things UT but to think about what he went through his final year is just unreal to me.

He might have ruined any chance of playing in the NBA during that stretch (because Pearl was going to give him some PG duties and he couldn't) but the fact that he did that and still played at a really good level was incredible.

Enjoy the next five years, because once you get into your upper 20s, your life starts flipping by faster than you would believe possible. Right now you're still at the point where life feels a thousand miles wide with roads stretching forever in all directions in front of you. By 28 or 29 you'll be consoling yourself that at least you're still pretty young. And about thirty minutes later you'll be clinging to your mid 30s and there'll be a whole irritating new generation of annoying people my kids' age who look at you like you're a dinosaur. Lap it all up now while you can.

The beginning of the end of UT's national prominence and the Fulmer era. We've mostly been wandering the wilderness ever since.
