What do you mean? Just stating the truth as I see it. Paul Jones is wanted by no one outside of Penn State. He actually tried to generate more interest and failed. The staff has looked at him as they have all QB prospects in this class and they have passed. He is not one of the top 10 pro style guys.

its not just the paul jones matter i agree with you on that but have some optimism with the "big fish".. hell what else do we have going on in the middle of july?!?

He is the #3 overall QB on scout, 1 of 4 5 star qbs. I know Rivals is the better football site, but I don't think scout is handing out 5 stars for crap players.

I never said he was crap. He just isn't one of the top 10 prostyle guys in my mind. I don't care what the rankings say.

General attitude. There appears to be a lot of smoke here for something not to be going on. Whether it's a transfer or an already committed recruit, who knows. But you're just like this guy I avoid at work, who is always having a rotten day.

I have one question regarding the "big Fish" being a transfer. If the player has yet to announce that he is transferring and been granted said transfer, wouldn't we be in the same situation as we were with Marve where we were accused of tampering?

I agree. I do think there is something going on behind the scenes. There always is. There is likely some legitimacy to the rumors. I just don't think we hear anything soon. There's no way of knowing who this guy is until that fish is reeled in though. And all this talk about Barkley or Corp transferring here is honestly humorous.

Another thread with Barkley's name in it? Even in jest?

And unless Phillip Sims is just recruiting guys to play with *him* wherever he goes, I don't think it's him either.

Personally I think this QB's name is actually "Big Fish" but I'm not able to locate him on Rivals or Scout. I was able to locate a vague picture, however.

I don't see much in the way of arm strength, but at least he can put 10 guys on his back.

I agree with you that Barkley and Corp are not the fish. I do, however, think that there is just too much talk for this to be a rumor. I'm curious to know if you have any ideas on the identity of the fish; as I generally trust your posts regarding recruiting

I agree completely. I never stated otherwise. I'm not going to speculate on who it might be. I don't think there is any way to know until some movement takes place. Also bear in mind that we had "big fish" on the line earlier this year and we either threw them back because they were too small or let them get away. This could certainly end up the same way. The coaches were confident on landing Scroggins too and that didn't happen.

You guys can speculate away though. I just don't see the point.

The guys on Sports Talk like to pull hoaks!

About 10 years ago, they named an ex-marine that was enrolling at TN. He was suposedly an animal of a LB and would dominate the SEC. His name Renoldo Striker. I'll wait until a creditable source reveals our Mystery "Big Fish" QB.

It's probably Sam Bradford. If he transfers immediately, he'll be able to play here in 2010 for his senior year.

It would seem fair to give other people the same breaks we give you, on those rare occasssions when you're found to be wrong. You know best how to act / treat others, but that's my $.02

Barring you know that this "big fish" doesn't exist (I hope that you do, so that we can move on), where's the harm in speculating as to who it might be?

Tim Tebow, I heard the NCAA is going to announce that they will grant him a 5th and 6th year of elligability for work he done @ Florida trying to turn them into a classy program evan though he could not turn them under Meyer. To show his dissapointment against Florida he will transfer to Tennessee where he can fight evil with the good guys.

I am not saying it is Barkley, but how many people have heard of Jevin Snead? Snead thought he would sit a year behind Young till McCoy beat him out. If Corp stays through his Senior year and Barkley red shirts, he will have two years at best to start. I am not saying it will happen, but it is logical. I also remember how Barkley was such a solid lock that he enrolled in the spring.

Gotcha on that one. Anyways, my guess is Newton, he was a 5* QB going into Florida and the last time I looked at his height and weight......he is a BIG FISH.
