The "Big Fish" Quarterback Rumor

They might have flipped him and are waiting for the best oppurtunity to create the most buzz. Pure speculation but Heaps seems like the most logical guy imo. I have also not done much research. Keep in mind this thread holds zero credibility and is all speculation. Of course, I am leaving out the only legit souce which is the two, most likely fat people who insist Kiffin smiled at a friend while at a restaurant when asked about any recruit.

listen to the first post kiffin said that he hanst flipped anyone yet but i think if he flipped anyone its him

but its the fact that if we had jake heaps as a silent commit u know its not true bcuz if he was commited to us it would be alot more public that way we could get more wideouts and lineman

It would take some time because he would have to tell all the other recruits that he has been trying to get to come to BYU. This is true of all recruits especially Simms. They have to explain to the other kids why they are switching. Heaps would take even longer because he would have to sit down with family members and explain why a Mormon such as himself changed his commitment from BYU. Not an easy situation. Sometimes you should think before you open your mouth.

Hmmm...There is too much to follow in this thread. The only other theory that makes the most sense to me is one of the Texas qb's being fed up with the depth chart.

Or maybe it is Jesse Scroggins. The whole USC commitment was an elaborate hoax by both Kiffin and Pete Carroll to create the most buzz for both programs. It was the first sign of a new college football alliance in the quest for complete recruiting superiority.

It's been said in the other thread (here) that the guys on the sports talk show in Chattanooga had no answer today as to who this might be. Here is the actual audio if you want to hear for yourself.

That entire conversation was barely discernable. I now feel like my IQ has suffered as a result. Two poboys with no sources started a monster.

but couldnt he just go ahead and tell his parents that he changed his mind and then once he makes it public that hes goin to tennessee everyone he was recruting would know i would love for him to go to tennessee i just dont see it happening

I have despised them since the first time I heard them 5 years ago. They rarely substantiate any of their ideas or claims. They're just two countrified wind bags.

It's not just parents. Have you ever met a Mormon, quite large families.

I don't think it is Heap, I am just saying that these things take time. The quote was they have " a big fish on the line", he is not quite in the boat yet obviously.

I just don't see how you throw names around that aren't even possible, but say that Heaps is impossible. Heaps could still very well be in play.

Freak, do you have a gut feeling on who it is? Is there a projected date of announcement? I have been on here on and off all day looking for some great news. :fool:

It's all speculation at this point.

i see what u mean i think it could be him to bcuz he didnt make it really public when he commited idk why maybe he wasnt sure about it and we were goin after him pretty hard and last i checked were still going after kasen williams his younger teammate and u would think we wouldnt go after him if he qb was solid set on going to another school bcuz teammates like that duo usually stay together gosh i hope we get him

So, do we think that Kiffin never made the comments, or are we thinking that he did...but these two sports talk guys are just trying to pump ratings with their "big fish" talk? I realize that it is summer time, and there is little else to talk about, but the suspense is killing me!

Codyg10,

I'm sitting here trying to determine whether you are simply amusing yourself or are serious with your posts.

Assuming the latter, please allow me to say all comments attributed to Cheney and Kiffin are simply hearsay that have led to a considerable amount of conjecture.

Nothing wrong with surmising, but I doubt that deductive reasoning will allow any of us to arrive at an answer (who is it, why don't they announce now, etc.) w/o more facts, such as is there even a "Big Fish" on the line.

Just a thought.

agreeed. what i want to know most now, is whether or not kiffin ever said that about "having a big fish, maybe a whale" (with a smile). cause if he did, we still have somethin to look forward to. but it doesnt look promising cause we were supposed to find out today, and no such luck. WTF

im just assuming idk whats gonna happen no1 does im just assuming and hoping and im just saying all of the things that come to mind

Understand. Believe me, I was excited when I first heard the rumor and still hope it is true. I wish like you and everyone else that we had more to work with than a couple of conversations that were supposed to have taken place in the last few days.

I hope my doubts are soon put to rest due to good news from Knoxville.

I wouldn't doubt it if these guys are telling the truth, but they are probably stretching it a little. I would say this guy just jumped the gun when he said that he would know Monday. We probably won't know until the guy commits, if that ever happens. I'm thinking the coaches were talking about Bray and these guys are just blowing things out of proportion.

You guys are killing me! It's a TALK SHOW. They TALK. They let listeners TALK. They don't "report" on sports. They talk about what they hear. And the stuff they talked about Friday is the same stuff that was talked about here last week. Don't y'all read any of the threads?

And we can have 10 people on here know something for a fact, we get told to book it. But a caller on Sports Talk calls in and does that and the whole board blows up. I don't hear people calling Freak an idiot because someone here spreads a rumor.

We just need some freakin' football. It can't come soon enough.
