The "Big Fish" Quarterback Rumor

Who are these guys? Are they at all credible or are we just wasting our time?

I really think their "source" was VQ. Someone had posted about it early Friday/late Thursday and then these guys came out and said the same things that were in the post... I'm a bit skeptical now due to the fact they didn't have any new info yesterday about this... Its easier for me to believe these guys troll message boards and pass it off as inside info than believing they do have an inside guy...

There was a poster on here that actually heard Chaney talking on his cell phone about recruits at a restaurant a while back. I can't remember who it was, but nothing really came out of it. I believe this is the same type of deal. It was probably mentioned on VQ that someone overheard Kiffin and Chaney and this radio show read it and ran with it. Whether it is true or not, who really knows. One thing is a fact. We will know on NSD what Quarterbacks we have for the '10 season, and until then, its all speculation.

Hmmm...There is too much to follow in this thread. The only other theory that makes the most sense to me is one of the Texas qb's being fed up with the depth chart.

Or maybe it is Jesse Scroggins. The whole USC commitment was an elaborate hoax by both Kiffin and Pete Carroll to create the most buzz for both programs. It was the first sign of a new college football alliance in the quest for complete recruiting superiority.

why would pc try to create buzz for usc the name speaks for itself?

im just assuming idk whats gonna happen no1 does im just assuming and hoping and im just saying all of the things that come to mind

Dude...I enjoy keeping up recruiting and I agree, this is a very interesting topic...but you're killing it man. I understand that all this is speculation and pretty much nonsense, but please, for the sake of everyone else who has to read your posts, use puncuation. By doing this, you would keep EVERY post from looking like one big boggled mess.

You can claim to know or have your gut feeling or an idea all you want...thats fine. I think you're crazy for even mentioning Barkley...but thats your opinion and you are definately entitled to it. Please, use a bit of intelligence when you post, though.

These guys are running their radiio show off of walkie talkies, in a log cabin, drinking Miller High Life...absolute peons. Wow.

It's pretty obvious that the rumor started on the message boards and then ended up on the radio. A caller or the actual hosts read it here or volquest. They will have new info when we have new info.

You guys are killing me! It's a TALK SHOW. They TALK. They let listeners TALK. They don't "report" on sports. They talk about what they hear. And the stuff they talked about Friday is the same stuff that was talked about here last week. Don't y'all read any of the threads?

And we can have 10 people on here know something for a fact, we get told to book it. But a caller on Sports Talk calls in and does that and the whole board blows up. I don't hear people calling Freak an idiot because someone here spreads a rumor.

We just need some freakin' football. It can't come soon enough.

Let me guess, Aunt flow is visiting this week?

That would have been me. I heard Chaney talking to Tommy Rees and his dad at ROOSTER'S trying to get Tommy down to camp. Pretty cool conversation but as we all know, he went to ND (which I still cannot believe). But this is a different animal than what I posted. Now, if I would have posted that conversation after the Scroggins' beatdown, who knows?

If you look at it logically, it is easy to eliminate people. First off qb recruits know what they are getting into when they go to usc. It will not be Barkley. It will not be a SEC qb because no school in the conference would release a player to play for another conference team.

IMO it is either a qb out of the Big 10, Big 12, or Juco transfer. For it to be a big fish it would have to be someone that was highly rated. Orgeron had a similar situation at Ole Miss and he brought in Snead.

I am way past Jesse Scroggins. I am now on the Bray Train. Then I will be on the Kaiser train. I could get on the Newton bandwagon if I had any idea that our coaches were remotely interested.

Glad you cleared that up. I couldn't remember who heard the conversation, but I remembered reading the post.

Apparently "X" on Tony Basilio's blog knows who the big fish everyone is talking about is. He is going to give a QB update tomorrow.
