I'm pretty sure I haven't gotten any BREAKING NEWS from any source about UT football before I read it here on Volnation Since January. I don't expect that to change...ever.

i actually don't think he is referring to Bray. he said "the guy with the goofy myspace page who is committed to San Jose State". tyler bray is commited to san diego state. i dunno who is commited to son jose state :dunno:

It says "X" will teach us the importance of Sept. 1st. I'm guessing that this is going to be a 2011 commit. Could be Johnson, LeMay or Overbey.

if it is pertaining to a 2011 commit, i would take it with a grain of salt....we've been talking about swaying commits from the 2010 class. who knows what would happen between now and the time a 2011 commit signs???? i would hope that it is good news for this year. who wouldn't tho, right?

I wish but no way it happens. Green, Nukeese, Teague and Rogers last year. No way we get Ambles, Prater and Milton this year. It will be Prater or Milton I'm guessing. If we land both... someone better be moving to tight end. Green may not even be eligible this year from what I'm hearing so he'd be a freshman with this years class I believe.

You guys are killing me! It's a TALK SHOW. They TALK. They let listeners TALK. They don't "report" on sports. They talk about what they hear. And the stuff they talked about Friday is the same stuff that was talked about here last week. Don't y'all read any of the threads?

And we can have 10 people on here know something for a fact, we get told to book it. But a caller on Sports Talk calls in and does that and the whole board blows up. I don't hear people calling Freak an idiot because someone here spreads a rumor.

We just need some freakin' football. It can't come soon enough.

I agree it's just a talk show. I listen to them from time to time and I don't take them to seriously at all but I like listening to their show.

Ha ha, great first post. Welcome to the board. You will soon learn that people like to joke around on this board. You really don't want to start off calling people "idiots" from the get go or you are going to be sent with your tail between your legs pretty quick.

Point taken. Actually, I'm not really much of a trouble maker and perhaps, by virtue of not having experience on this board, do not yet understand the community dynamic. Also, I'm coming from GVX and dealing with all the lopers over there, I may need to take a step back.

So, I retract my "idiot" remark and hope to be informed, entertained and share my passion for the Vols. But I'm also not one to run and doubt that anyone here is going to send me anywhere with my tail between my legs.

I'm highly interested in this "big fish" story and hope there is more substantial content behind all of the internet and message board noise.

Fair enough, but I think that he'll focus on being in early on these guys, etc., etc. If there was a commit coming, I think that it would be worded differently than 'the importance of Sept. 1st.' To me, it's a significant date, because it's the first day that our staff will be officially on par and not playing catch-up with other programs.

Did he review all major targets - or just QBs?

Looks clear to me that the staff thinks they have a QB for 10 and now the receivers are getting in line.

Cam Newton it is. I don't believe we'll see Brunetti in a Vol uni. If the staff didn't wany Boyde, I don't see them wanting Brunetti. They are the same quarterback. Only difference is one is from Tennessee so he'll have a bigger following and more support.

Brunetti holds a UT offer, so I wouldn't count him out. We are still recruiting him and he is still listening. I don't believe he is as solid to WVU as he says he is.
